Idea #1: In selected track copy a range of notes and paste them into another track
Idea #2: In selected track change instrument number in selected note range
Quite simple and fitting projects (especially #2) for anyone who wants to learn a little LUA and make their first tool 
Can’t the second one be done through the advanced editor? Also, I think it has been scripted in a tool before.
