i’m currently using a novation x-station which has a built in virtual synth, amongst other things. after reading through the tutorials, it seems that i can build an instrument with a midi-instrument set, and use it to compose part of a track, but renoise will be unable to render any of it. i’m working on the demo, so i can’t say for certain. is this the case? this isn’t a huge deal, since there’s plenty of ways around this, but just checking.
yes you cannot render midi instruments inside renoise
If you think about it for a few seconds, it is pretty logical that it isn’t possible. The soundengine of these midi instruments resides outside the scope of renoise. So unless you route the outputs of the midi devices to the line in of your computer and record them, there is no way of getting those sounds in Renoise.
