Transpose One Note Up/Down function to rotary knob/macro

Would this be possible? Let’s say i want 4 notes in a 16 row pattern mapped to 4 corresponding macros controlled by midi. As in seqencing on the korg sq-10 et al.

yes. easily done. if I’m understanding your question properly. just use separate modulation sets for each sound (sample) you wish to have independent pitch control, then set up a stepper device (if you want discreet pitches) or just map the pitch input to your chosen macro for each modulation set.

something like this

HTH

You’re right, it can be done with modulation. I was rather thinking transposing the actual recorded notes in the pattern editor.

ok so … you want to be in the pattern editor, and have a rotary knob that transposes the note in the pattern editor on the currently selected row up and down? that should be easy to script, without needing any renoise devs to step in. i can add it to my todo-list for Paketti.

but it seems you’re talking about “i want 4 notes mapped to 4 corresponding macros” - does that mean you wanna do “transpose note up/down on row 01” for one midimapping, and “transpose note up/down on row 02” for another midimapping etc? cos that’s a lot of midimappings.
i mean, imagine having 512 midimappings for rows 0…512 for being able to set them. are you sure this is what you’re after?

the selected line transpose for selected note column seems like a good idea, and that’s more multiuse.
another thing is i could set it up so that if you have a selection in the pattern, that same midimapping can be used for up/down transposition of the note data in the pattern editor.

what do you think?

do let me know if interested in talking about this further. (can join my Paketti discord f.ex. or do direct messaging here)

512 would obviously be unusable, but 16 would not.
