Hello,
So I have to tell you that these 2 gems on Linux are ending.
Hrast has finally ended it.
As of today I see that the Linux versions are no longer available for download.
Official statement here: Bits & Bytes by HrastProgrammer
I hope you all have your backups.
Luckily I am a windows user
Been using Tranzistow for a couple of years now ,best investment ever and the sound is unparalleled .
Gentleclockdivider, is it possible to avoid the click that appears at envelope retrigger in polyphony 1? Truemono mode is perfect for clickless legato, but if you play really fast staccato lines you get that click. Increasing polyphony solves it, but then you can’t use truemono mode.
I see what you mean , you get these clicks when playing legato when voices are set to 1 and true mono is off
Honoustly, it never really bothered because I always use true mono when using 1 voice .
I don’t have a solution either , sorry
Hi gentleclock! You actually get this clicks even when you’re in poly1 & truemono. (Truemono works flawless with legato). But depending on how you’re playing and the release on env4. Try some moog’ish stevie wonder stuff. Oh, and open the filter and set the osc to something like sine.
And for the record: this is not a critique. The devloper is a genius and he made a fantastic synth. I just wanted to hear if anybody had some tricks upp their sleeve to avoid this.
hello,
could you share a simple patch that does this.
does it do it as a plugin or directly in hrastow?
Just use the default init patch, but change the waveform to something with less overtones like a sine or triangle. Set poly to 1 and activate truemono. Increase the release on envelope 4 (amp). Now play some fast notes without overlapping the notes = click everytime voice stealing happens. Play legato style = true mono kicks in and works perfect (no clicks).
So in other words, it’s just the voice stealing in poly 1 that creates the click. I tried lots of different things like using an extra envelope to control various parts of the amp env to create a small silent gap on every noteretrigger, but failed.
You can set poly to 2, the click then disappears but you lose the ability to use truemono mode when playing legato. You can also activate the button “monomode”, it makes it possible to play legato on polyphony higher than 1, but truemono only kicks in one the third note on. (I want it on the second note on like in poly1) .
Anyway, it’s just how synth/voice architecture works and it’s normal to happen. I just wanted to try and trick it
The absolute best way to prevent this is always to leave some gap between notes and make sure that the release ends before the new noteon.
Edit: i forgot, happens in both Hrastow & plugin.
