Trigger notes/ samples with LFO ? I have been scratching my head on how to do such a thing. This is a common technique in modular of course, Bastl Kastle comes to mind. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Please be more specific - what kind of states trigger notes? Min or max or any? I already have a LFO writer for automation, so if you can break this down into ”what it does/would do” i can figure out the how if you explain the ”what for” in detail. Thanks in advance!
You can generally pull this off with comparators, envelope followers and things like that. I haven’t explicitly attempted such a thing inside of RNS, but using VST plugins with I/O capabilities like Cardinal, Voltage, Reaktor or something like that will get you there in just a few minutes. Cardinal is free, BTW
Ya…i have accomplished such with Cardinal inside of Renoise to some extent. But quite a pain in the ass as I am quite a newbie in the modular world. But was looking for a RNS solution. Not sure it is doable as I found a post from years ago from someone with a similar question.
I know one can do random layers in the sampler for each hit, as well as cycle. But as far as I know one cannot accompish this with an LFO. But I am not sure. Basically thinking of triggering glitchy percussion samples in time with an LFO and occasionally changing time based tempo as well with automation. …I f that makes sense
Found this similar discussion after posting…Setting an LFO to trigger drum samples. Is it possible?
