I’m looking into getting a Midi keyboard; i was wondering if it’s possible to connect two small Midi keyboards and have them staggered on octaves and be able to play both of them at the same time? Else I’ll just get one big one to cover more keys.
Yes, it is possible to do that. But with the caveat that you have to keep the instrument slot selected.
You can configure up to 4 controller devices in Renoise. These devices send note data to the selected instrument slot. On instrument slot itself, you can only configure a single input device.
Another option would be to use virtual midi cables / midi routing to create a virtual device that represents the note data from both physical devices. This quite easy to do on Linux at least.
