In most multi-selection property editor UI’s I’ve seen, there is a ‘mixed’ state for the various UI elements. This shows that, for all the items selected, the relevant setting is actually many different values.
Can we add that state to the sample property editor?
EDIT: Re, the subtitle for this topic, it is the properties of the first sample you selected which is visualised.
What you are looking for, is that the UI controls are “emptied” of their display value, if the underlying selection has differing values?
If so, I agree. It’s a common UI practice and makes a lot of sense in this context.
Yeah pretty much – emptied, possibly with the text “Mixed” depending on the type of control.
Though it would be really fucking cool to just transparently superimpose all the states on top of eachother win
