Ive adjusted a sample to 11025/8bit/mono and tried to fade out the end with the button. It does not seem to be able to fade out all the way.
Yeah, can reproduce with those settings. I’d assume it also happens at higher bit depths but 8-bit makes it very obvious.
p.s. i had no idea you can just select midway (instead of a frame) and then select fade out. i thought fade out was one of those “select a range, and that’s whre it happens” type things.
I’sn’t that to be expected though because there is too little space in the low bitrate to hold all amplitude info? Convert to a higher bitrate to see changes better?
A neat trick I use is mix-paste set to multiply
Draw your own fade out curve and then mix paste with the sample
First copy paste the section you want to fade out in a new sample , this way the length will be exact
Then draw the curve
Now mix paste the new sample at the location where the fade out should occur
