Using Energyxt For `freezing` Renoise Tracks

i dont understand what is meant by “freezing a track”…
hmm, i´m german… do you mean to stop playing one track if u play life?

sorry,
andre

Please explain why I should do this instead of just rendering and loading this as a sample? Other than “The best part being wherever you play from in renoise, XT will trigger the sample at the correct playing position.”

???

It’s main purpose is so that you don’t have a bunch of plug ins sitting around wasting resources that could be used for other tracks at the moment. It’s only a temporary render. You can unfreeze the track later so you can edit it if you want to change something again- (say you had an idea like now you decided you wanted to automate the sweep on a filter in a softsynth, but you already rendered because the plug was taking up too much CPU- well you freeze it instead of rendering and reloading and doing all that work that you can’t get back unless you saved another iteration already. that’s what he means by non destructive. it’s nice for work flow.
