Greetings
When I was using Madtracker, I used to download many VST instruments, and just move the .dll files to the VST folder.
But when I try to do the same in Renoise, and try to play some notes with any of those VST’s, I get only noise distortion.
What am I doing wrong? are those vst dll files compatible with Renoise? or should they be converted to some other format? and how please?
When I restarted Renoise, some VST’s found their way to the instruments folder, and worked fine from there. But that’s only some VST’s not all of them.
What should I do to make a VST instument work?
When I double click a VST, and play, I only hear distortion!
Please help me.
You definitely don’t use a VST by double clicking on it.

The short, go to your preferences, set your VST directories to wherever you put your VSTs, and if you have them all over the place now would be a good time to realize that’s wrong and put them all in one directory, then press rescan.
