Want to get into DJing; Vinyl or digital?

Vinyl looks generally badass and seems better for scratching but digital gives a lot more possibilities for mashing up beats and is generally cheaper. Personally I don’t know what I’d like to go for when DJing, but I’d really like to try out scratching out noise records like Mr. Baseck’s doing in this video at around 10:45

I prefer vinyl, but it started getting too expensive to keep up with new releases, so I now have a hybrid setup with both vinyl and Traktor. but I have to say vinyl-only is way more fun. I hate having to rely on a laptop, doesn’t turn me on that much. but i guess i am getting old, I did vinyl-only for ten years so I am just so damn used to it
anyway, if you want to explore scratching, vinyl is a must. digital scratching (with traktor “vinyls” or likewise) sounds and feels awful if you ask me

Steike, e da berre Nordmenn på denna sio?

Cool. Does Bergen contain any good record-shops?

haha, er noen nordmenn her ja, men de fleste er nok fra lenger ned i europa og usa.
kule sjapper i Bergen, tjaa. det finnes tre som selger vinyl:

  • robotbutikken i Strædet (litt av alt, har en del elektronika)
  • apollon i håkonsgaten (mest rock)
  • samleren i nygårdsgata, bruktsjappe

men billigst å bestille på nett, feks junorecords.com
ålreit nå som tollgrensa ble hevet litt og
