Cool track! i very much like the retro sound of that guitar and the detuned synth sounds. It sounds a bit like it’s being played and recorded on old equipment, are you using some tape simulator or something?
There are some timing issues that bother me a bit and the mix sounds maybe a tad a bit “uneven”, works better in some parts than others.
I wouldn’t call this hip hop/rap though, sounds more like some rock/pop retro psykedelia electronica. One of my favorite genres. 
Thank you for your comments, TheBellows! The only timing issue I’ve noticed (but decided against caring about) is that the drumroll sounds a bit off. Can you be more specific about what timing issues you had in mind?
The guitar sound comes from a wonky VHS recording of Iron Maiden’s song “Iron Maiden”, captured straight from YouTube. I also use the lofimat and the flanger set to the standard setting, to get things to sound old and wonky. In addition I use somewhat exaggerated sidechain pumping and a compressor called Ferric TDS (https://www.kvraudio.com/product/ferrictds—tape-dynamics-simulator-by-variety-of-sound). Recently, and most importantly, I’ve added the Wow and Flutter VST, fromhttp://www.interruptor.ch/
EDIT: Oh, and it has a hip-hop beat, so that makes it (instrumental) hip-hop. Genres are a pain in the arse, especially the ones you get to choose from on Soundcloud.
I’m not shure if what i hear is what i think i hear, but i notice in the intro part starting around 14 sec, the drums seems like they don’t follow the groove and doesn’t fit with the melodical instruments as good as the rest of the track. I think it probably would sound better with some changes to the drums in this part.
I use FerricTDS on most every track myself, even though it’s not a dedicated limiter i think it does that job much better than most other free plugs i’ve tried. Think i’ll have to check out theWow and Flutter VST.
About genres i feel totally lost in the jungle and i have probably never labeled any of my songs correctly, maybe except for a few chiptunes, can’t go wrong with a chiptune eh?
