Does anyone here know much about wavelets vs STFT for spectragram/sound analysis purposes? Apparently, the Heisenberg uncertainty principle restricts either time resolution or frequency resolution (there’s a compromise between the two). But perhaps wavelets overcome some of these problems and are better overall?
