Specifically wondering if the state of a third party instrument will open in that state if I share the entire project? Couldn’t find any info on this in the manual. Cheers

I only have access to one computer here so I can’t try it out. I want to know if it opens on another computer, with 3rd party instrument states transferred as I saved the project, or if the instruments also need to be saved.
Anything sample-based is saved into the Renoise XRNS song file itself, so there’s no worries there. The XRNS is a totally self contained file that you can easily share.
For anything that uses plugins, the plugin state (presets, parameters, etc.) will be saved into the Renoise XRNS, but your friend will need to have the same plugin(s) installed on their system to load that plugin data.
If you’re working between Windows and Mac systems, then typically the VST version of any plugin is a lot more compatible – VST and AU/Component use different methods.
