What is the dithering situation when running on linux?

I am running on Ubuntu and don’t see the dithering option in the audio tab of preferences. Is the dithering configured through JACK?. I just want to make sure I am not dithering twice when I master it in Ardour…
I searched a couple similar questions, but didn’t find the answers I was looking for so any feedback would be greatly appreciated  :+1:

Yes. Jack uses 32bit floating point audio streams internally, so there’s no dithering within jack clients.

So do I not need to worry about dither? Will Renoise do it automatically if I render in 16bit? Or do I have to render it and add it after elsewhere? This is all probably super obvious, but I cant really find a clear answer. When I render from Renoise is it “good to go” or should I mix it elsewhere?

What’s the benefit of exporting to 16bit in another DAW🤔

choose 32bit…as TakTik say

Ah I see ok will do!
