Where To Find High Quality Instruments

Hello, I just recently heard a demo of the instruments that come with GarageBand for IPad. And I was wondering where can I find some instruments of that quality that I can use with Renoise? Free, preferably. I’m a bit strapped for cash atm. Thanks.

Listen to the Guitar as well as everything else.

thanks!

are there any legendary instrument packs out there? I prefer the instruments over samples and riffs. But beggars can’t be choosers! I’ve been using Renoise for about 6 years so far. And I had Impulse Tracker for about 8 years before I bought Renoise. I’ve always prefered the actual instruments over using samples and riffs.

Do you mean vst instruments, or sampled based instruments? I’m not sure what you mean… lol

Or did you mean like, "a freeware instrument that would basically be like, “OrangeTreeSamples for Kontakt.” Stuff of such high quality, does not exist in freeware… IMHO ( flame suit on guys. ok… I know )  B)

Hey thanks bro! And those orangetree samples are responsible for one embarrassingly stained pair of trousers :w00t:

Hello, does anyone have a recommendation for a particularly nice free fiddle VST? I suppose a viola or violin would also be nice, but fiddle is what I’m after.

Thanks

Hey BearCares,

AFAIK, a Violin and Fiddle, are the exact same thing. Fiddle is basically an adoring word for the Violin, depending on the type of music being played… For Eg, Country musicians playing the Violin will call it a Fiddle…

As fer free… LOL… That is a tall order… but you might, might, might… Find a few Violins in the Free Version of Independence Sampler…

This is a very long download and install process… Actually, I’ve made a yellowtools account, I still have to download and install this myself… I want the library, especially some of the payware stuff…

I probably should work on downloading and installing this tonight… lol…

Cheers

oh ho, wow thanks for hitting me up with that knowledge and thanks for the link :w00t:

My understanding is that fiddle is what happens when you play a violin from your forearm borrowing notes from banjo playing technique. It’s difficult to reproduce the extended techniques with samples. I think we have a list of sample and vst resources in a sticky post.

Dunno I just found box from BBC or something, called instruments from the Middle Ages & Renaissance, gonna find so much gold in this but I’m very hesitant to share especially if y’all just gonna make some breakcore crap out of it :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
