Windows 10 normalize audio question

So i was looking for something to normalize all the audio from apps and found that windows has this feature.Should i do that or will it make mixing/mastering/production a nightmare?

It will make mixing/mastering/production a nightmare.

My understanding is that it keeps all sound within a set range, and I expect that when a song gets to a quiet part Windows would boost it; at louder parts, Windows would lower.

For mixing, etc., especially with reference tracks, you want volume matching, not automated normalization.
