Would Some Please Be Able To Help Me With This Sound?"ventolin-es

Howdy!

Ok so, I have been creating alot of Powernoise fused with old school Acid. Well there is this on section of a song I am in the middle of creating the would be PERFECT with this sound effect I am trying to create…

http://drop.io/2yh2kgi

there is the rough draft I have created…

but here is the thing…In that sample I created I don’t wanna hear the actual Kick…I wanna hear the Effects thet the kick has on the D6 Square wave…if that makes since…

I guess it would be sidechainging in a way? I don’t know…but yeah. Can any of you guys think of a way to get this done in Renoise?

here how I am doing it now…

In the regular channel I have the D6 Sine Wave and a kick(which the source is muted) which is running at 4/4. In the effects area I have a send device going to S1. On S1 I have a Compressor set rather strongly with a very quick attack and a HEAVY distortion after that…

anyways…any help is greatly appreciated!

Thnx you guys in advance!

Hmm… I think I know what you’re trying to describe with the idea about side-chaining, but in this case it may not be necessary. If you are simply trying to isolate the higher frequency distorted sound in your example, you can apply a highpass filter and adjust the cutoff until you no longer hear the bass: (I tried these settings on your example .mp3)

Alternatively, something that might work is a phase inversion trick. Try adding another track and put a Gainer device on it with both channels inverted.

Now duplicate your kick pattern in this track. This phase inverted version of the kick will mix with the other track, and should hopefully cause the kick it to cancel itself out, leaving only the effected square wave.

For example, if I have a song where track 1 contains a reverb effect which is set to 100% wet and 100% dry, and track 2 contains a gainer with both channels inverted… I can play the same sample on both tracks and it will mix together, cancelling out the original sample, leaving only the effects of the reverb. It’s kinda weird and it doesn’t always work, but you can get some interesting results with this technique.

Somehow you can implement THIS TECH maybe.

Thanx you gusy for replying…I havnt tried everything you guys sead. I went with DBlues first idea becouse those phase thing kinda sounded wishy washy…

Buy it did work. No as well as I hoped but hey. beggers can’t be choosers…

guess I’ll just have to wait tioll Side Chaining is emplemented in Renoise…

You already can do sidechaining natively in renoise, albeit with a bit of faff:
