It’s obvious that they are aware that Renoise works with VSTs, I think that they use their plugins with other hosts and prefer to use Renoise with samples.
Don’'t wanna piss in anyone’s caviar but they just said there is software like renoise that great/all using samples …they didn’t say they actually used it , they just give notice about it existence , unless I completely misunderstood
You are right, after reading the article, it doesn’t look like they use it.
The person alludes to Renoise being the opposite of what they are interested in.
They are definitely talking about synthes in a DSP toolkit manner, not vsti at all, as they’ve used max forever for synth generation. So the comparison in the article is that, max > renoise.
Sometimes I think those guys might talk too much.

Autechre mentioned Renoise quite some time ago… I thought this was common knowledge by now

It would be interesting to see what Autechre could do with renoise really…Maybe another album like Quasrtice on renoise…hm.
In another interview they have mentioned renoises native reverb sounding very ‘grey’ or something, and liking this sound. Dunno where I picked this up, probably watmm forum.

!?! I don’t really understand this sentiment. I think it’s awesome that Autechre actually said that, I think it’s a huge achievement for the Renoise team and shows how far it has come in the last 10 years. It would even be cool to see the team get official authorization to use the endorsement.

However I DON’T think it’s an excuse to continue egging the team on for v3 before it is finished. Why can’t everybody just shut up and enjoy this amazing tool that was provided for us? I’d be happy even if there were no more updates ever, and would use it for a long time to come, because the software is very complete and functional as it is. I think all the begging for v3 is just a reflection on our society’s tendency to continue wanting more stuff, even when many/most people already have plenty more than they need to be happy.

Yes, that is - until a new version of OSX arrives. But I have faith that even if Renoise achieved some mythical “feature freeze” point, in which everybody was happy, it would still receive the periodic update every now and then, to accomodate a shifting technological landscape
PS: “shifting technological landscape” sounds very Authechre’ish, doesn’t it?
