Can modulation of start and stop point of a sample be coded as a tool

I think it would be a very much needed feature and I saw the first asks for this from about 10 years ago. Does the API provide the functions to script that?

New Tool (3.0): Loop Control

amazing - thank you!

the amount of times iā€™ve seen this on Ideas & Suggestions in posts posted between 2002-2024 is staggering. it really feels like iā€™ve seen 300 identical requests for this out of the 7361 ones (i grabbed the entire subforum 2002-2024 april posts, and have been going through them). itā€™s nothing to scoff at. people really seem to want this.

its bloody useful i can see why! feels like quite a trackery technique too - getting a lot of out a small sample source

i should add Ulneizā€™s smc tool goes even further with this stuff

id still love a native option though

Yes! SMC is excellent for this and more.

Just like the old days of wavetableing a synth sweep in FT2 you can:

Make multiple instruments, each with a slightly further start / end loop-point;
then change the instrument numbersā€¦ and scan though.

now thats trackery. phrases def come in handy for that sort of thing.

I made this this tool which allows you to change how a sample is being looped by controlling the movement of two slice markers. Loop playback responds to both start and end marker movement.
