I’m using Renoise to play live and have a fairly large “live set” project file. Recently, I switched back from my laptop to an older but capable Ryzen 9 desktop to handle the set and updated to Renoise 3.5. My audio interface is a Roland MX‑1, which I also use to mix in live synths and drums.
Lately, I’ve noticed pops and crackles during playback. Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
Uninstalled and re-installed MX‑1 drivers
Changed sample rates
Switched between ASIO, DirectSound, and WASAPI
Audiobuffer is not low and the CPU useage is not high.
Unfortunately, none of these changes have made a difference. This is a Windows 11 machine, and I had to install the latest version when I started using it again — not sure if that could be contributing.
Has anyone experienced something similar? How did you fix it? Any advice would be hugely appreciated.
This kind of problems came with the 24H2 update and later updates. Also a lot users of other forums reported such problems since 24H2. These updates even caused many damaged SSD drives out there. You can find a lot forums where this was reported.
Problem sorted! Has noticed that there were some Native Instuments, ASIO and Waves ASIO drivers installed. Removed all of them and it fixed it. Will have to remember if I ever get an old machine back in to service to check for this stuff.
Cheers
