As it’s way harder to compose something adhering(*) to that rule, I voted for an entry which did, even though musically it’s not my favourite entry.

Yes it is. Has nothing to do with adding (red) herrings to a dish!

i voted for 4. i especially liked the arps at 1.42. sounded quite a bit like a shreddy death metal guitar solo.
have three favourites within these tracks. especcially track 1 and 8 are really cool tracks with a lot of movement and playfullness in their edits and use of the fxcodes. also liked the last track by brokenbike. but that track could use some brushing up here and there. nice work gents

See I also have a spoonerism with one of the names “CCRD13 - 3” rather than “DDRC13 - 3” but nevermind, sure it wont of affected anybody’s voting as it was only for the xrns so hasn’t muddled up the order they’ve gone in the Soundcloud set 
it would be great if people would adopt the habit of submitting both and mp3 and an xrns. that way, great ideas heard can become great ideas explored, and a (potentially) much better learning experience.
track 8 is also fun watchin it play in renoise because the track changes patterntempo/length a couple of times during the track.
Just realised I’ve been a fool! Voting normally stops Tuesday so I can get new rules by Thursday to start the new round. Oh well… Really seem to have got less and less organised over the last few rounds, sorry guys.
Off to Bangface Weekender Friday so not much will happen then but I’ll announce the winner tomorrow, as stated in first post, then run next round Tuesday to Tuesday and try and slip back into normal times from that

Wow, this compo was (is!) pretty sweet. Really loving #8. It’s nice to see how the pace of the song changes throughout.
Fair enough. Was your bass more than anything that reminded me of his stuff a bit. He’s come from a lot more experimental/breakcore background but think the Dubstep sells and gets him gigs, which is why he does it more than anything else, still a very different sound to your average pubstep though
Sorry I sometimes need a bit of a kick to do the things I promised when I promised to do them. To be fair I did have a busy day at work yesterday and got suitably sozzled afterwards for a friend’s birthday (although she was so fucked she could barely move by the time I got there, communicating by hand gestures.)…

Thanks for the votes guys, didn’t really expect to win with a chiptuneish track. I have been thinking about what the rules should be and i think i have decided now, hope they will fall into flavor.
