Why wasn’t the Formula Device formally added to the 3.0 update?
It’s unstable and capable of crashing Renoise.

But anyway, I used the formula device quite a bit in 2.8 and it seemed quite stable to me. I have played with it in v3 and it seems stable too. Maybe the devs just ran out of time to polish it and make it official, a shame really as formula device combined with new instruments and doofers opens up some cool tricks as you can see here: https://forum.renoise.com/t/3-0-switchable-effect-chains/39862
