How To Activate Filter2 (ringmod/distortion) In Renoise 2.0

Copy the XML data below into the clipboard (Control/Command + C), right click somewhere in the free space of the Track FX chain. There, choose “Paste device”.

Filter 2:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<filterdeviceclipboard doc_version="0"><br>
  <deviceslot type="Filter2Device"><br>
	<isactive>true</isactive><br>
  </deviceslot><br>
</filterdeviceclipboard>

Filter 1:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<filterdeviceclipboard doc_version="0"><br>
  <deviceslot type="Filter1Device"><br>
	<isactive>true</isactive><br>
  </deviceslot><br>
</filterdeviceclipboard>

Distortion 1:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<filterdeviceclipboard doc_version="0"><br>
  <deviceslot type="DistortionDevice"><br>
	<isactive>true</isactive><br>
  </deviceslot><br>
</filterdeviceclipboard>

Gate 1:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<filterdeviceclipboard doc_version="0"><br>
  <deviceslot type="GateDevice"><br>
	<isactive>true</isactive><br>
  </deviceslot><br>
</filterdeviceclipboard>

mpReverb 1:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<filterdeviceclipboard doc_version="0"><br>
  <deviceslot type="Reverb2Device"><br>
	<isactive>true</isactive><br>
  </deviceslot><br>
</filterdeviceclipboard>

if you then save the song as a template, do the ’ old’ dsp devices remain in the dsp list? (no renoise here in school to test)

No, as I can tell they are never in the list.

This is just a way to activate them on the fly without having to rely on an old song.

Pin it.

+1 for sticky. All hail Conner Bw!

In my opinion this is counterprogressive.

Thanks for the tip. Seems like the HP 2x2 in Filter1 cuts the low frequencies much better than the one in Filter2.

this doesn’t seem to work…

in b2, it’s not giving me the option to paste the devices.

You forgot this one:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<filterdeviceclipboard doc_version="0"><br>
  <deviceslot type="CowbellDevice"><br>
	<isactive>true</isactive><br>
  </deviceslot><br>
</filterdeviceclipboard>

And…

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<beatslicerdeviceclipboard doc_version="0"><br>
  <deviceslot type="BeatSlicerDevice"><br>
	<isactive>true</isactive><br>
  </deviceslot><br>
</beatslicerdeviceclipboard>

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<sidechaindeviceclipboard doc_version="0"><br>
  <deviceslot type="SideChainDevice"><br>
	<isactive>true</isactive><br>
  </deviceslot><br>
</sidechaindeviceclipboard>

It works for me, in all betas including B3.

Right click to the left of the post fader in a DSP chain (in the empty blue strip) and you’ll get “Paste Device.”

Already found them all by myself. ;)

Which begs the question: Why the reduction in functionality with filter3? Couldn’t you guys have split off the ringmod and filter distortion to a different plug? I like those effects a LOT.

is it possible to paste these in and then somehow stick them in the Native FX list? or do i have to paste the FX in every time?

strange, command-c just wasn’t working properly from your post…i had to literally right click and copy. stupid…

guys please activate it on the menu, is it so hard???..

agree!

if it’s somewhere in the program hidden… why not the easy ability to use it?

Man, if I remove a feature in a new software version, I almost get executed in public (…so please respect the god of legacy, especially in functionality!). I really miss this ringmod feature, and was expecting it in the distortion module or even better in a ‘modulation module’ or something…Can’t believe its removed :(

Yah I’m hella confused about this . Any words regarding, taktik?

i think it would be a great thing in addition to setup for renoise to have a button (off by default) that could enable all old dsp and show them in the native plugins menu…

or when right clicked and chosed “show hidden devices” they apear…
