Got a few tracks under my own name on 2 hardcore & gabber compilation releases from teh Rotjecore label, which are dedicated to tracks made in trackers on the Amiga, check out;
The tracks were made somewhere pre-mid nineties (released on my own bandcamp as well; 94'-95' Protracker Selection. | Richard Jonas | JTPE ).
Ooh, that crunch is tasty! A fun compilation. Brings back memories of those days.
@TNT do you hear that? That grit adds a lot of character to the sound. Now your Time track doesnât have to get as crusty as some of these tracks. But a little to spice things up could be good, I think.
I have a headache from last nights drinking and this track made it worse .Jokes aside, although this kind of tracks are not my favorite they make me feel very nostalgic about the 80s- 90s era.I feel that people in those days made music for the fun of it that is why they feel more true and warm to me.
That was out of this world!!! Behringer is killing it and i hear they are making a Daw too.Who are they going to copy this time?Maybe Renoise?Or even all the daws combined in one.
Thank you stoiximan! As always, much appreciated.
Name some examples, please!
Right! I checked @BriocheBaps suggestion and reduced the quality to 12bit 22.050 KHz. To be honest, I do prefer the clean version, to me it sounds fuller. But I will definitely bear the bit crushing thing in mind for some future productions (as I said probably more aggressive Elektro or similar), even though it âfeelsâ kinda weird reducing the quality voluntarily to get a kind of Amiga sound characteristic. Back in the days on Amiga it was my dream being able to produce in todayâs quality. But I know what youâre after. There will be a use for the bit crush, I will try this out. I can imagine getting something cool out of it. Thanks for your feedback!
In the 90s I was creating that kind of sound myself on Amiga, so yes, I hear that.
I would love to post something from back then, too. Unfortunately all my 90s tracks are lost on several tapes and currently non functional Amiga hard drives. But I will find somethingâŚ
I do have respect for people who are creating sounds on hardware, but as soon as there are cables involved Iâm out. Something like this would drive me crazy, thatâs why I love trackers. I hope you will have a lot of fun with your new toy.
Gude!
@Coddy
You know that I like all your stuff so far, but it clearly needs to be longer. Keep it up!
Got a new swamp psytrance tune up!
Iâd say 95% of all the sounds were created from scratch in renoise with a few external samples. lmk whatchu thank :]
Sample magician !!How in the world do you make such crystal clear sounds? I mostly use vsts sampling isn t my thing (yet).
Two very differents types of trance:
@tisi You reach a very good powerful sound! This have the soul of some 90âs trance anthems for sure with an uplifting touch !
@slujr All these fx are soooo swirling! Very creative, itâs close to sounddesign.
Thanks @stoiximan & @Fabrice!
@stoiximan, A lot of the clarity is due to mixing techniques, like shelving eqs to remove unnecessary & competing frequency content between sounds, but some of it is just in the sound design. A lot of renoise dsp effects get used in (hopefully) musical ways⌠Psychedelic sound design is supposed to âpopâ and excite the brain
@gd303, dope track. mucho gusto!
Here is a new one made with Renoise and the old VST Delay Lama. lol
Another taste of upcoming material by @NeuroNoNeuro using @renoise with rudimentary granular/FM/PM audio techniques @photomosh @keyshapeapp @affinity #designer @AppleMotion
Very nice man and i especially liked the change at 3 minutes in, kept me interested till the end
Donât fall asleep or die or anything:
My God man what have you done here? What a unique track!!! Its going straight to my favorites. The sound choices, the mix itself mind-blowing!!!
Thanks man! This was an attempt to make a likable track by using lush sounds and cheap tricks and a couple of nice chord progressions to drive it. I canât completely stick to ârulesâ though, so i made a few unconventional choices, but i think i might have gotten away with it.
Iâm quite happy with the mix, i think it sounds pretty well balanced and not too harsh, it even sounds pretty good on different devices which i normally struggle with and that is nice.
Messed with the old Digits VST for some Keyboard and drum sounds and decided to make a quick little drum&bass track. Also had some fun with some voice samples I recorded from a shortwave radioâusing the FIR filter in Reaper to remove noise and ended up with some ghostly sounds.
Itâs been an exhaustive day so I donât have the clarity of mind to comment on the previous tracks right now⌠Maybe later. I did finish a short little tune for the Loopop contest over on youtube. All of the sounds originate from Loopopâs visit to Supee booth. Though I did try to make them my own.
Good stuff, reminds me of old game music with a modern touch.
I noticed you said you needed a plugin, but at least in theory, it sould be very simple to âmono-fyâ everything below 180Hz natively by using multiband send and then just slide it to 180Hz and send to a send track with a stereo expander at mono. You will have to put all tracks in a group, so itâs of course a bit more finicky than just adding a plugin, but it should do the job.
