Live-mode

well, you can line up a whole track in a single pattern with all program variations in muted patterns… i always build stuff up in this way anyway
i largely agree with the make best use of what you’ve got sentiment… the freedom of limitations… forces you to be creative

what i love most about Renoise is that it doesn’t really force you to work or think in any particular way… software like Live! and Floops have always rubbed me up the wrong way because they seem so focused on making music in a very specific way and with quite a backward-looking approach

simple things like trackers and hardware sequencers seem much more futureproof in a lot of ways; seem to attract more experimental and forward thinking musicians; and are usually where you find the real musical innovation taking place

Uhmm, huh?! What is that section between the pattern list and the pattern editor? (the one with all the colors and shapes)

What’s it for, and how do you get to it?

That shit just blew my mind.

That and how are you getting more than one column of patterns? I’m feeling extremely noobish right now.

the pictures are just mock-ups,those things in the pictures arent possible (yet)

The ability to switch between “instant change to selected pattern” and “change after current pattern” behaviour would = a usable live mode.
Id love to see lsdj/ableton etc type live pattern switching and layering in Renoise eventually though. I dare not think about the details too hard in case i start to pine for it too much. :)

Oh, ha, ok. I was startin to freak out. I can now sleep again.
