Live Shenanigans!

Jute tell me such a feature will be implemented in a near future and I buy Renoise immediatly!

Yeah, well the Matrix (Pattern Arranger? Still getting used to the new names!) is in place now, so we will see a lot of think-tanking, and updates to it over the next year or so.

It is a major step, and in it’s current form is very very good. Not perfect yet, but it is excellent and 100% usable.

I love just watching my songs play down on it!

any official words about this feature and its future? is it considered or planned for future developpements?

Strange, because it seems like this is possible at least on the latest 2.5 beta. I’m currently testing out triggering renoise patterns from Ableton Live. I have been successful launching clips which contain midi notes that trigger the patterns in Renoise:

I’ve also tried this by triggering the midi notes on a midi keyboard in the same armed track in Live that routes through IAC and the results have been not as reliable for this method. Most of the time it gets stuck like it’s retriggering really fast:

Scheduling renoise patterns over midi works reliably though with my Maschine using the Maschine template.

:dribble: WOW!!

This would be NICE!

Oops. The correct link for the video of successfully triggering renoise patterns by launching clips in Live is this one:

In this video, you simply trig complete rows, nothing like asynchronous tracks playback

You’re right. I misread the mention of wanting to trigger individual tracks. What I did in the video is triggering a whole row at a time, like Scenes in Live. I’m happy with this as it is since all I wanted was the ability to sync renoise patterns with scenes in Live with both programs using the non-linear matrix workflow.

Hi guys! KRIX here,

your ideas inspired me a lot, so I made a (quick) mockup of how renoise could act in a “live way”! See my topic, I hope I could get some feedback from you guys!
Have a nice day!

ps: If needed, feel free to link any of my mockup pics in this topic. :)
