Save/load mixer status… would be kinda useful.
wasn’t there a tool that did this?
Yeah I remember this one, I’ve tried it but it does not remember the DSP chain itself, rather it remembers changed params within the DSP chain.
So if you have loaded some different DSP, swapped stuff out or got rid of stuff, then that kind of thing is not stored.
Pretty nifty tool though, all the same… now if it would just remember the plugs/devices themselves …
For what its worth, I just right-click on track > Device Chain > Save As (xrnt).
And for Parameters, I just export the preset (xrdp).
In the top section of 2.8 it was organized as,
Song
DSP Chain
Instrument
Sample
Theme
In the right section of 3b5, its currently organized as,
Songs
Instr.
Samples
Other
In 2.8, I didn’t need to “right-click > save as” because I could just select “DSP Chain”, type name and click “save”.
At the moment “right-click > save as” does the job, I currently have about 45 chains that need purging and better naming systems.
I’m curious how “Content Libraries” will change how I save and organize. Hopefully “Content Libraries” will also help your predicament.
+1 for this.
it could behave kind of like the file browser presets, or the window layout presets.
It would be especially useful for A/B auditioning different mixing/fx setups.
As a temporary workaround, I guess you could duplicate the current pattern and just store the changes in the automation editor.
