Thank you, i don’t think that was intentional, maybe in my subconcience, but the more cats the merrier.
I don’t know if that’s the alcohol speaking, but thanks, i’m glad you liked it!
Happy new year everyone!
I would like to check your tracks and throw a few words. That’s a nice way to start 2023, isn’t it?
I have to admit that it took a while to get into this. I had to listen to it a few times, but now I can “feel” the tension. Even though I have to say “Mit Beat wär’s cooler” I agree with @eretsua, good stuff!
No worries! The music counts. You’ve managed to put three songs into one song, congrats. It’s a little bit wild for my taste (I’m not a breakcore fan), but that’s just me. I think I like the last section the most. Thanks for sharing.
Delete and reupload is what you can do, too. It’s not that bad, I had to do it several times myself. As a regular user you have to delete songs from time to time either way.
ProTracker lives?!
You improved the song a lot, it’s not that “boring” (don’t get me wrong here ) anymore and there are some cats. I’ve got two points of criticism left. The first one is that I still don’t like the first break. In my opinion it’s too heavy. It’s like pausing your tape and pressing play again after a while. The second one is the last section. The last section feels like a total different song and doesn’t fit to the rest, at least in my opinion. There’s no element except the drum beat which connects the last section to the rest of the song.
Great production and nice composition. You can make people fall asleep while a mountain lion wants to eat them. That’s what I would call “art”. Thanks, well done.
Yes! The first melody is from the intro of the Amiga game “Moonstone”, right? After that it turns into a kind of metal composition without heavy guitars. The way you’re doing the tempo and beat changes and the way you’re throwing the melodies is very metal. At the end it turns into something completely different, almost quite the opposite, and again you’re doing tempo changes. This is for sure an awesome composition, very varied without being too different. There are three songs in one song, but it feels like one song. Well done. And this is not the alcohol speaking. I don’t drink.
PM me if you still need cat samples. I’ve got some leftovers, yes. But you can also check pixabay.
How come?
Catektro! Should I drop it now? Hm, no. I think I’ll wait at least two more weeks. I still want to improve some small things. I just don’t know what exactly and how. I can listen to the song for hours and couldn’t find a thing what really NEEDS to be improved. But somehow it doesn’t feel 100% finished in my opinion. 4 weeks left, right?
Go for it!
Thanks, i don’t know that Moonstone game and i can’t remember that i’ve heard it before, but i like it.
This track SLAPS! (apologies if double posted, can’t quite seem to figure out the quote function here :-P)
hello, made a remix of previous submission and (i think) this is final version. added drum n bass break because competition is called mutant breaks. cheers!
Hi sorry for a late reply…
No I did’t use it I was afraid that it can be agains rules
You are right about cat sample I didn’t have enough time to work on it …

Here is my submission
HeartBeatHero - Cats Forever
I also made a renoise playlist
Its mating season and my cats are going crazy. Here is my little track
reminds me of shackleton
That’s a sweet little track you’ve got there @stoiximan stoiximan. You’re little melody has a lovely melancholic vibe to it. And I like how you’ve really integrated the cat samples into your composition. Overall a playful and cheerful little track. Good stuff.
@supercomputer60s I say this with the best of intentions: I have trouble focusing on your track. There are nice elements in there, I think. But as a whole it doesn’t quite work for me. And it might be the mix more than anything else. The way I hear it there’s an excessive amount of low end. But it’s also the balance of the instruments. For example, your drum 'n bass break sounds very far away / quiet, rather than loud and proud up front. The details are nice but I think your tune would benefit from a bit more work on the mix. Those are my thoughts on it anyway.
So you recorded your own cats? Cool. And seemingly you’ve watched the mixing thread, I think your mix sounds better than your mixes in the past. I especially like the background pad starting at 0:14. First I thought it sounds dark, but as soon as the melody (which somehow reminds me of Assassin’s Creed) kicks in it turns into a mix of several styles. But the more you listen to it the more it seems to fit.
Nice all the way.
I’ve got a question: The songs can be heard just as long as the artists don’t delete their songs on Soundcloud, right? Or how does this work? I will upload my track on Soundcloud, but I won’t leave it there forever. One day I will delete it just like any other song. Webspace is limited. And what about those who even don’t have Soundcloud?
Okey Dokey, here’s mine - had a blast working on this (as well as hearing everyone’s work - always nice to hear such an eclectic mix of tunes coming out of these things). Happy Friday ya’ll!
love the sound design, but some cat samples sound too dry imo. also ending is too abrupt
My favourite so far. Тема раскрыта
Xie xie!
What a great crazy track!!! Beautiful just beautiful
Thanks for the feedback. I listen to a lot of feedback I got on my mixes in the past. Most people were missing the highend. And it the first time in a while I compared the track to another track that was mixed well.
Let me know when you release the track on soundcloud. If you dont have a soundcloud account its pretty strait foward. Here is an article that could help you out.
Click Create acount in the top tight corner. It’s free and then you get adds before playing the tracks.

Thanks Stoix! Hope you’ve been well!
Ok, will do. But what I wanted to know is what happens when I delete the song in future from my Soundcloud webspace? Is it still in the MBC playlist when this happens? If yes, how? Are you uploading those tracks, too?
