Oh, come on, how to preview sounds on os x ? Any fix/solution?

No love yet. Maybe some unix genius will bless this thread with his or her brain and from their fingertips shall flow the answer to our problemsā¦
Gave up trying to get this to work a while back but just found this which could be worth a try: http://www.maclife.com/tags/afplay
Greetings!
One really dull thing about the tool is that you cannot sort the samples according to their commercial viability; Iād like a function letting me do that; say, all I want is a list of public domain/CC samples and not CC Attribution ones.
Regards,
Artur
Still would love to be able to preview in osxā¦ itās not terribly useful otherwise.
Did anyone ever get it to work?
hey it was working fine but now the search doesnt workā tried reinstalling renoise etc and i get this :
āC:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Renoise\V3.0.1\Scripts\Tools\com.occulkot.Freesound.xrnx\main.luaā failed in one of its notifiers.
The notifier will be disabled to prevent further errors.
Please contact the author (Mateusz Ratajski [occulkot@gmail.com]) for assistanceā¦

As mentionerd earlier, preview / search does not work in renoise 3 under Mac OSX.
Pity, because this seems to be a really awesome feature
Yeah, searc not working in renoise 3.1 under renoise, would be great to have this tool updatedā¦
I think the tool is using the old freesound API, which is now deprecated.
Yes, i trying to look into apiv2 but im stuck at recieving authentication token back from freesound. It looks that request.lua makes http request for https url.
I will try to work it out, maybe with some api proxy.
Tool is working again thanks to michaelpace
You can download and check it yourself from
https://github.com/michaelpace/com.occulkot.Freesound.xrnx/
or
https://github.com/occulkot/com.occulkot.Freesound.xrnx
Changes in freesound api requires now to obtain api key for your freesound account so just follow instructions from README.md
Fantastic! It works.
I canāt get it to work with VLC as player, though.
Just got around to getting it working with new freesound api. However I canāt get import working.
I did set the download dir, and one of the problematic files is residing in the download dir, seems to be a mp3 file, but has extension .wav.wav:
atte@pandrup:~/music/samples/collections/freesound.org/_renoise$ file 36567-IDM2.5.wav.wav
36567-IDM2.5.wav.wav: MPEG ADTS, layer III, v1, 128 kbps, 44.1 kHz, JntStereo
Is there a bug in the tool? Is there anything I can do to get import working?
NB: Iām on linux
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THIS TOOL!
the free resonic player makes a good match for the previews
Forgive my ignorance, but, anyone know how to get this running on mac os 10.13.1?
Seems like an awesome tool. Would be great to be able to use it!
Thanks
Hello,
If anyone is intrested ive attached version with curl support (if installed). Unfortunetly request.lua doesnt handle ssl requests so in order to download high quality samples
Version works fine on linux with installed curl. You have to have freesound.org account and use tool authentication method to authorize and generate token.
Anyone still got this working? It doesnāt work for me anymore.
Hello, have you tried latest repo version from GitHub - occulkot/com.occulkot.Freesound.xrnx: Renoise Freesound Plugin?
I can check on my computer i have some version with curl working some time back.
Thanks for your reply. Iām pretty sure I have the newest version. However, I havenāt been able to reinstall the tool. Iām not really familiar with GitHub.
I click Code ā Download ZIP, rename the file to com.occulkot.Freesound.xrnx, drag it into Renoise?
I donāt get that āsuccesfully installedā dialog.
Is there a direct download link for the xrnx somewhere?
Ill prepare one in the evening after work, also checking if this tool is still working ;). but im pretty sure i used it last year, need to check.
