New Tool (3.3): Almost Drums

It doesn’t look like it has anything to do with AD.
But please write things about AD-NG in the thread for AD-NG so there is no confusion. Thanks

Hi…hm yeah maybe you are right…

  1. i dont know the difference
  2. i deleted AD-NG because not sure what this was, i accidently downloaded

I got 2 Versions running an deleted the NG-Version…in the same Project, maybe
this causes the error…?!

if you again would say its not an AD Error i delete this post

I’ve never tried running 2 instances of Renoise at the same time.
I’ll try it when I get to the computer.

2 version of AD (AD and AD-NG) running on 1 computers ^^,

Just found this tool and been having a read. It sounds excellent and is something I would use a lot. I use the kick generator in renoise, very useful and clean sounds. A full drum generator would be kickass.

Just wanted to post my ideas for almost drums, forgive me if any of this is already included or doesn’t make sense.

Tightness setting: As in adjusting the skin tightness of the drum to get a punchier sound or looser drum sound.

Hollowness: To give a drum that big hollow punch. Or more of a solid sound.

Overdrive: A mild distortion effect instead of a standard renoise distortion. Maybe a smoothness and a drive setting.

Downloading now to play with, thank you.

Hi guys!
I get a blank window when opening this tool. I am using the most recent version.
I am using arch linux, with i3 window manager. Anyone know how to get this tool working?

What does the “NG” stand for? I am using the latest version of the tool if that is what you are asking.

I’m not sure what it stands for. Next generation? It has its own thread and can be downloaded there, I think

Hello,
this is the last version.
NG = Never Great, not NextGen.

Ah, you’re too modest!

Yes that works, Thank you, Excited to try it out!

No, I’m not,
I’m rewriting it again to make it 100% OOP.
I’m also finishing some wishes for setting randomization and using envelopes for created glitches,
which will now be able to overlap.
So the NG version is the last one for now.
The next one will be AG / Almost Great /

I need to come up with a concept so I never have to rewrite it again.
I wouldn’t enjoy it anymore

Do we have something similar in renoise without using external things (fft, cdt, libsamplerate) ?

I do not know, maybe @slujr?

Feature request: save settings. While I appreciate very much opening the tool and starting from scratch so that every new sample is somewhat “unique”, there are times when I come up with a really great base sound that I would love to retrieve some other time in some other project as a starting point.
