Nice to hear you got it sorted out. I use the version from the kxstudio repos.
Also proper mindset not to want to mess too much in the system, to prevent breaking it. Well, after some practise and fixing a few problems you will eventually learn to know which things are dangerous and which are okay. This knowledge also will help in being able to customize and tune the system the right way. I you’re unsure what to do, better not follow any random blog tutorial on the web, but ask people who know how it is done the right way.
kxstudio repos don’t work well in recent ubuntu/Debian distros,I added them in my system and it became slow and sloppy and had to reinstall,so no more ppa stuff for me.
Maybe its this os i use only but i had similar problems in manjaro also.Who knows i have jack server very well configured and i am happy with it.This distro i am using is pop os a system76 maintained uduntu but with many changes for privacy and stuff. They are really careful on what you can do with the system, especially ppa stuff. There are workarounds but full compatibility with ubuntu is not the case, but it is very stable and many people are using it.Also i have an amd 2200g apu and ubuntu and manjaro froze frequently, also other popular distros, but this thing is amasing.iTs fully optimized for any kind of apu and they update things very quick because they sell pcs with linux.
