Re-ordering of midi out instruments bug

This bug has been here for a long time and according tothis thread should have been fixed , but it’s now broken again .
Perhaps it was fixed for vst’s and never for midi …who knows

Swapping instruments back and fourth may result into no sound

A bug I reported a couple of years ago , still not fixed ( back then It was about mdi instruments , but vst’s are aslo affected ) Load a vst instrument into slot 0 Load a vst instrument into slot 1 Drag slot 1 to slot 0 ( so the vst’s change places ) Drag slot 0 back to slot 1 result : instrument in slot 1 does not make any sound [1] [2] [3]

-Create a midi out instr in slot 1going to midi channel 1
-Create second instrument in slot 2 going to midi channel 2
-create a third instrument in slot 3 ,going to midi channel 3

Now swap places for instrument 2-3 , result is that midi channel 3 ( now in instrument slot 2 ) is not responsive anymore
Re-arrangin doesn’t solve the issue , we need to reconnect the mid output port .
It’s an annoying bug .

Problem with routing

I noticed very strange problem with routing. Let’s say that I have instrument 1 (midi ch 1) send to track 2 and instrument 2 (midi ch 2) to track 1 (so opposite - notes from track 1 plays on track 2). Everything works except when I switch tracks (drag&drop). Assignment changes, but there is no sound. VIDEO There is no problem with Renoise 3.4, only in 3.5.

So have I , first time in 2018 , and 2021 four years ago
I guess the mid bug was never fixed at all

For plugins this was fixed a log time ago but it seems the same problem happened to MIDI instruments as well. Fixed that now too.

Or can anyone still replicate this with plugin instruments in RNS 3.5?
