⇝ Renoise 3.5.2 and Redux 1.4.2 Bugfix Update

Download

The auto-updater options in Renoise and Redux won’t pick up the new builds yet. It will tomorrow.

Changes

  • macOS: lowered minimum system requirements for macOS x86_64 systems to 10.14. A lot of older Intel-based Macs simply can’t be upgraded to macOS 11, so we’ve lowered the requirements as much as possible again.
  • Renoise: removed the “Help” → “List Keyboard Shortcuts…” menu entry. The print option was removed a while ago from the prefs because it no longer works in modern browsers.
  • Formula Editor: added missing font size options to the external formula editor
  • Script Editors: close completion window when no items are available and added options to disable hover tips and auto-complete to the context menu Forum Link

Fixes

  • Redux, macOS: Typing text (e.g. in phrase scripts) in Apple’s Logic Pro and GarageBand didn’t work.
  • Old Filter Device: fixed silent/broken RingMod filter in old deprecated Filter2 DSP device
  • macOS: When hiding the Renoise window while a tooltip is shown, the tooltip may get stuck on screen and can’t be removed again Forum Link
  • Windows: pattrns dll no longer requires Windows CRTs to be installed Forum Link
  • Phrase Scripting: fixed wrong applied trigger note when triggering multiple notes of the same phrase Forum Link
  • Lua API: added back math.mod as math.fmod alias for backwards compatibility Forum Link
  • Instrument Box: fixed missing note history display updates when adding instrument aliases Forum Link
  • Phrase Editor: fixed missing playback position lines in phrase grids Forum Link
  • Splitter Device: Moving around bypassed splitters with nested splitters may break PDC Forum Link
  • Sample Playback: Instruments with Sample DSP chains with track routings may have caused crackles Forum Link

I’m getting a lot of fatal exceptions from the GUI thread when scanning plugins on startup while trying to run this on mac 10.14.

Yes, just noticed this as well. Unfortunately too late. Will provide a hotfix for that.

It seems this only happens on macOS 10.14. If you set the new “Plugin Sandboxing” option in the Misc/Plugins Preferences to “When needed” it should work for now.
