I see that it is possible to copy script to pattern (rendering). Is it possible the other way around, pattern to script?

cool. thank you very much !

That’s not possible, the problem with this is that a script can only render to a specific pattern (sans randomization), but any given pattern could be expressed by many different scripts.

It would be a good exercise to try to “reverse engineer” a pattern into a script by hand, trying to golf it like “what’s the shortest script that can generate this pattern?”, but it’s not something that could be trivially automated for all kinds of patterns (assuming you want the script to be procedural and not just contain every note explicitly).

Looks like everyone founds a benefit in different added features , so cool to see an happy community ( so different from a native instruments update announcement  . For me the midi map directly from the gui is something i’ve always wanted. Microtuning and livecoding are also really exciting. Thank you taktik and contributors for making the best software i’ve ever bought.

thank you so much :sob::sob::sob:

I don’t necessarily recommend doing this yourself, but if you want the .vst3 to be recognized as a bundle by the Mac OS finder and you have xcode tools installed, this will do it

SetFile -a B /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/Renoise\ Redux.vst3

however, it works as is and the above is probably better done as part of the build from the Renoise team.

Thanks for pushing the evolution of trackers for more than two decades. Great update!

Me too, sending out Midi from script to one row in the list features my Digitone, the midi note scroll looks amazing in the instrument list. Very inspiring!

New killer setup: DT2/DN2/Renoise… wohoo!

Both VST3 and AU doesn’t seem to be working for me in Ableton Live 12.2. What setting did you sure to get it working? I would love for the phrase editor in Redux to trigger Ableton’s Operator. Ultimately I would love for it to trigger midi notes in Amigo VST or my DT2.

EDIT: Renoise Redux is triggering VSTs via Phrases!

is it possible to do something for users with old computers and make them happy again?
need it to work in Windows 7 please
maybe a separate release without HiDPI support like some other developers do?

I don’t believe AU supports MIDI out. Other midi-capable plugins also have this limitation - cthulhu for example tells you to load the VST instead.

In the installer it said that the minimum OS requirements was now Windows 10.
I believe it is also in the release notes as well.

Yes I immediately checked that yesterday after having installation problems, and all my initial excitement and enthusiasm of long awaited release with microtuning and Scripting phrase engine which I dreamed of died. :man_bowing:
But I believe there should be some workaround.

Oh my god this update solved all of my problems in the world. Microtunes are gonna be massive, I can finally dump that hacky doofer I made. Phrase scripts look spectacular, and I’m especially excited to use them in Redux in Bitwig with that new Redux MIDI out!!

Thanks to @taktik and everyone invlilved in this release, it must have been a lot of work.

I’m really liking the improved instrument list, it doesn’t just show the waveform preview, but cycles through it, and displays notes played on VSTs. For a long time I’d been hoping for some kind of visual feedback when you have a long sample playing on a track. I think this is a neat solution.

Looking forward to discovering some of the other improvements.

Excited to explore, some massive changes here. Parallel processing is such a big win.

Thanks for the update. I need a new Mac now. My 2011 iMac with macOS 10.13 isn’t supported.
