I hate being unable to amplify left and right channels separately in stereo samples.
a simple yet very good addition would be a dialog with two sliders instead of one: one for left and one for right channel, and a “link” checkbox, checked by default.

a side note: actually I meant this as an addition to the sample editor, but indeed it would be neat elsewhere too, but maybe this would not be feasible for 1.9
