there’s need to convert volume slide in volume column to a 9x/Ax command for improvement of xm import
that conversion is absent now

yeah, the xm import isn’t that well tbh. but isn’t this doable with a scripttool somehow?
That might be possible, but then the script will have to do the whole conversion.
Be aware that there could be other limitations like the range of the pitch envelope in instruments etc.
I have been away from XM too long to know this specifically. (to be honest, i don’t miss XM at all 
)
