YOu can make perfect odd time signatures with lpb 8
One quarter note = 8 lines .
a Pattern of 56 lines equals 7 quarter notes .
For example pink floyd’s money bassline is 7/4
Sometimes odd signatures can be achieved by adding
For example 12/8 = 8/4+4/4
11/8 = 6/8+5/8
etc…This is used a lot in jazz …
Stereolab does a lot of 5/8 …fantastic band btw
