TROJAN in installation file ?

Reacently i downloaded several times a 3.1 renoise install and every time i find this trojan inside of the installation…

Trojan.Win32.KillFiles.dmib

No, it’s a false positive. A common problem of recent virus checkers.

I guess you’re talking about your licensed Renoise installer, and you’re probably using either Avast or Kaspersky antivirus?

If so, then it’s 99.99% certain to be a false positive.

Please see this other recent thread:

Hopefully this is common sense, but you should never send your personally licensed Renoise installer to anyone else — not even an antivirus company!

i used Kaspersky Virus removal Tool , hope this is false alarm the trojan was also found in rewire.dll as in your link.

I won’t send my copy to any one anyway.

Who seriously uses antivirus programs in 2016 when you have Adblock + Noscript + Sandboxie + Common Sense ?

Me.

Using Windows Defender in Win10 and runs a TrendMicro Housecall now and then if i suspect something or Defender has caught something, plus adblock and popup blocker in chrome. Works for me, i actually went into a trojan the other day and Defender took care of it. I’ve had no problems with this setup so i’m keeping it. MS say they have taken security to new hights in Win10 and so far i think it actually might work this time. :stuck_out_tongue:
