Using Buzz Instruments And Effects In Renoise

Ninja Delay is a Dileay with Hipőass filter, and when the delayed sound go forward always get more HP filter … so it is not a simple delay and not a delay with a single filter… coz it is change the filter cutoff too… depends on setting…

i get it , but it works in 2.8.2 … this is the only question why not work in 3.0, not im the only one who want to use it. the this is Not present in the VST list thats all… i dont care if any of the plugins are buggy or something… you know what i mean?

thank you anyway

Too bad Buzz is Windows only.

Yes, HOWEVER buzz has been integrated to the unix environment (mainly Linux)… After the loss of the source code there was a rebuilding effort within the community where there was users commenting about implementing a source for unix (mainly Linux counterpart) usage. I think I remember someone linking the tarball but the user has to be able to compile it themselves and do all their own support because there is limited machines made and converted…

I agree though, they SHOULD adhear to BOTH userbases! Its a GREAT program! (as of this date in time I’m of course talking about buze, the used version of the masses on irc atleast ;P)

Cheers!

HOWEVER buzz has been integrated to the unix environment

Well…a long and sad story.

None of the Linux porting/reimplementation efforts reached feature parity or gained much traction. Usually short lived one man projects.

Here’s what comes to mind as far as Buzz Linux clones go:

Aldrin (project officially dead, but opened quite a few doors):

BuzzTrax (formerly Buzztard - lacks midi, sloooowwww development)

Neil (forked from Aldrin - kind of dead)

Modulyzer (just a test by the author of Buze)

At the end of the day, I’m running old Buzz in Wine+ wineasio connected to jack & Renoise to fill in the gaps.

Machines I wouldn’t live without: Primifun, 303, KickXP, Infector, Phatman, Wood One.

I certainly woudn’t mind seeing the few Buzz machines still relevant nowadays ported to standalone jack instruments or whatever plugin format supported by Renoise. The legal issues around buzzlib can apparently be worked around (although I woudn’t be able to dive much into details), and the source for a good number of machines is available (as Paniq and Calvin from Buze have been farming them). But probably not worth the pain anymore porting the host itself …

On a side note, I discovered recently that FSM of Infector/KickXP reputation is also the main brain behind the Calf plugins. His Monosynth plugin certainly reminds the almighty Infector…

Cheers,

LX

Btw, if anybody’s interested, here’s where the open sourced Buzz machines live nowadays:

Nothing there.

@ReverendEntity: Not sure what you mean - did you check the git root? Most of the classics are there, sorted by author:

https://sourceforge.net/p/buzzmachines/git/ci/master/tree/

But it’s true that there are no published files, this is just an archive.

You have to use git or download a repo snapshot via the web interface to get the sources.

If you’re looking for Buzz machines binaries, this is still the place to go: http://www.buzzmachines.com/

The dll seems to have vanished from the site. Does anyone care to upload it here?

Thanks!!!

haha

@Psynapsex: Indeed, Buzzmachines seems to be in a pretty bad shape.

This one still works though: http://www.buzzmachines.com/files/Buzz_Complete_BigPack_Jun-2011.rar

Otherwise, I have an archive but there’s pretty old as well. What do you need exactly?

If you’re hunting for something recent better go straight to the Jeskola forums: http://forums.jeskola.net/index.php

Looking for the buzz → vst dll so generators and effects can be used in Renoise

Thanks!

I don’t have it either. All the links to this one have been pulled since it’s kinda illegal (see earlier in the thread)…

Buzz itself has an option to download a big pack of machines nowadays.

As for the vst wrappers, good luck.

uh sorry … reUploaded

Is there anybody who get Buzz-To-Vst working with renoise version > 3.0 and higher?
Is there any chance for compatibility with higher versions???

It’s just a VST, so it should work as before.

Try a really basic Buzz machine like a Do-Nothing.

I always get this error in version > 2.8.0

does anybody get sugetions?

Get buzz machines working in > v3 Renoise would be great…

Renoise is now 64 bit only.

Well, on first picture you can see 32b version.

If you go there new pvst beta (updated 25-Oct-2021) - buzz forums it has a 64bit version they say works with generators… try that?

Are you sure, that you know what is PVST made for?

IMHO is PolacVST is just VST adapter for Buzz (to load VST pluggins in to BUZZ), not VST bridge that “warps” buzz machines in to VST format, to be used as VST in other DAWs.

If you about to ask, I tryed, it not worked. Simply as that.

Or is there anybody else, who is capable doing such thing
(loading Buzz machines in VST format in to DAW ) with PolacVST adapter?

I guess no.

So thank you for your willingness to help.
I was searching about other version of Buzz2Vst over the internet with no luck.

Well i guess you can just hope someone updates the buzz machine warper, or continue using the software/computer it still works with
