What games are you playing ATM?

I’m playing through the original Demon Souls for the first time now using a PS3 emulator.

It’s a very good game, and nice to finally see where Dark Souls came from. The rules of the game are more clunky, but it didn’t take many hours before I was hooked. Sick art direction, not so good music, but that’s okay because it gives me room to listen to my unfinished Renoise-tracks while I’m playing.

Do you play computer games too?

Of course, besides sports it’s either creating music or playing videogames. Both are best for distraction from daily life. Usually I play about 3 games each year. I’ve also got a huge collection of original games for many systems from the 80s until now. But since decades I only play on consoles, currently on PS4. I would also like to see Demon’s Souls, it’s the only Souls title that I haven’t played yet. Maybe one day on PS6. Currently I’m about to start playing either “Wo Long” or “Man of Medan” on PS4. But maybe I’ll try to do some music first.

For some reason, possibly related to world events, or not, I have decided to check out the Wolfenstein games and shooting the “bad guys” feels good lol. Great games by the way, highly recommended. I might look into PS3 emulation on PC, Demon’s Souls has been on my radar for ages - I love the FromSoft games, although I have bounced off Elden Ring a few times. Bloodborne, Dark Souls 1 and especially Sekiro are my favourite games.

Nice

I hope I can pick some titles from this thread. I will try NFSC sometime, I liked it on Nintendo DS years ago. I have a GTA SA port on my PS Vita too, have to play that as well, I enjoyed the GTA games that I played a lot, Vice City and GTA 4.

I mostly play old games myself, and I play the games I like over and over. I haven’t tried Bloodbourne and Sekiro, must play at least Bloodbourne. But I’m a little hesitant to play Sekiro because it relies on parry. I always use Zweihander with no shield in the souls-games, so I never learned to parry well.

Once a year I usually play through Last Ninja 1 and 2 on C64 with my nieces and nephews, they like that I play and tell about how I felt about it when I was a kid. And Moonstone on Amiga I play every time I eat acid by myself, start playing and see if I can finish before it kicks in.

You gotta play Sekiro. It’s the best FromSoftware game there is. Of course Bloodborne is fantastic, too.

You’re seeking for good titles? Maybe you can pick some from my list of my collection. I’m also about to sell stuff for SNES and SEGA MegaDrive. But of course only for the right (collector) prices. These games are way more expensive nowadays than in comparison to 10-20 years ago or when they were released.

Holy shit, @TNT, nice list  Then I can always come here for inspiration when I need a new game. I see many on that list that would like to try.

Hehe, okay I will buy Sekiro then. Can’t avoid it since so many say it is the greatest. After I played Demon Souls many times first.

Sekiro is like a child of Tenchu and Dark Souls that has grown up. It’s the greatest shinobi game of all time. But not for those who think Dark Souls is hard. Dark Souls is a piece of cake in comparison to Sekiro. You have been warned. Anyway, the gameplay is absolutely fantastic. It’s for sure one of the best games of the last decade. And there were A LOT of great games in the last decade. The Last of Us, Red Dead Redemption, Dark Souls, just to name a few. What’s your system? PC? Or do you have consoles, too?

Not sure if I like the fact that Sekiro is harder than the Dark Souls-games, I think they are pretty hard, but also fair. But I will try it anyway. I have been sniffing at Red Dead Redemption series, will get there eventually.

I have only handheld consoles, Switch is the only one that I can play on a large screen, and I hacked my PS Vita to stream to TV as well. And I have a Steam Deck that I can play PC games on, it’s not that powerful so I must play Elden Ring at 30 FPS. I can borrow a PS4 from a friend though, will do that for Bloodbourne.

If you’re playing Bloodborne and Sekiro on PS4 just like me, you also got only 30 FPS. But it doesn’t matter, the games are running fluently and there’s no disadvantage while playing. I’ve managed to finish every FromSoftware game with 30 FPS without any problems, and you won’t get any problems either.

Eventually? Part 1 is my favorite “3D game” of all time. And seriously, if you’re playing the Red Dead Redemption games and one day you’re outside in open country, you will recognize every animal sound you hear. It’s as realistic as it could be atm, especially part 2. Personally I even prefer Red Dead Redemption over the GTA series. It’s the best there is made by Rockstar.

Before I forget:

That’s the result of more than 40 years of gaming. :slightly_smiling_face:
It’s also like an investment in shares, but with a better increase in value. No digital releases, only retail versions in boxes. First editions all the way. On C64 and Amiga I also got a lot more games, but as cracked copies (of course). I will add some stuff from time to time to the list. Imo the list contains the best there is for each system. I don’t collect just to have a complete collection, I collect the best games in order to play them.

Sekiro is basically a rhythm game. I can probably still tap out the rhythm for deflecting some boss combos from muscle memory. Its a pretty forgiving system but you need to lean hard into it and go with it. Fucking amazing game. Bloodborne is a super close second for me, like Sekiro is a 99% game and bloodborne is a 98%.

Fallout 4
Skyrim
Shadows of Doubt (just got on Autumn Sale deal, so haven’t gotten fully absorbed yet lol)
No Man’s Sky
Generation Zero

All on Steam Deck. These have been my go to games lately. Like comfort food for my brain.

Greedfall and Hunt: Showdown 1896 pretty much.

Red Dead Redemption probably will come before any GTA. I like the style, the Clint Eastwood cowboy movies are my most watched films of all times.

I have Skyrim on Switch, only tried it a little though, amazing world.

The brain takes very little time to get used to 30 FPS, Dark Souls on Switch runs on that, and Demon Souls PS3 too. High fidelity graphics are overrated, IMO. Style is important but I mostly play games at low resolution because my computers have never been the latest tech.

Sekiro a rhythm game? Now I’m worried, I like to slack around and relax while playing xD In Dark Souls I like to get overpowered, and often use cheese tactics where i can.

Elden Ring is pretty good too, but I fell of the DLC a little, too much roaming around on horse in large areas to find the way, I get dizzy. That might stop me from completing RDR, I will have to see.

got tron2 from bv and dark void from namco, but cant seem to do anything.

i really want to play the newest gta as i use to live in that map. it looks like so much fun.

funny thing about this: i know they forgot something. the crack dealers on All the buses, that give out free $5 crack rocks.

i go through extreme week long periods of binging games and then not touching them again for a year or more and just spending every day with my family or making music in renoise. i have spent at least a week of my life in this program at the bare minimum, maybe even longer!

I wish Renoise had an hour counter. I’m of the slow type and can spend thousands of hours to finish a song. Doesn’t mean the songs are good, just that I’m slow, haha.

Last album i made with 10 songs that later became 6, i counted at least over 5000 hours.
