Bye Bye Renoise

Then in that sense, isn’t Renoise just that? Isn’t the destruction optional? I’m thinking load the sample of what you want “arranged”, put C-400 where you want it to start, and OFF where you want it to end. That makes as much sense to me as aligning a picture of a waveform into a horizontal grid.

That’s hard on/off of course, very basic. But still… that’s the way I do it when I just want a longer sample or track to run… just dedicate a track to it.

Non-destructive is “Clone pattern” or Clone pattern selection".
Rearranging sequences is actually non-destructive as well. The pattern contents won’t erase if a pattern is not being used.

And MS Paint has “copy selection to file” … this doesn’t mean it’s nearly as flexible as Photoshop’s layers.

B)

I wasted 300 USD on ACID Pro 6 a few days after buying my license for RENOISE!

Uh, but what’s an arranger?

If I could buy Live for the same price as what I payed for Renoise I might have bought it, there are some features in Live that are handy and not available in Renoise (loop processing and midi control is better in ableton)… for composing I think Live sucks, but maybe thats because I am a tracker at heart…

After i switched to hardware synthesizers i started play things live and sample them, because renoise midi recording capabilites are unusable - like you can’t zoom in/out pattern - only thing to do is to change LPB which is unacceptable if you have only few short notes in track. Also as mentioned somewhere if you have long samples you need to play song from the place when it starts… and so on… And also it is not possible to see waveforms in pattern editor.
Best thing to do is just to have would be zoom in/out and clips. Both worlds will be happy.
Because one will use one big pattern and move clips around and other will use several patterns with static clips. That’s simple as sex.
I could pay for that even 200eur i could even code that for renoise team ;)
That’s shame this thing is not opensource xD

Showing vertical waveforms for samples transparent under the notes would be awesome.

Pattern zoom is on the planning. Delay columns and moving to LPB were preparations for that.
The only way to figure out is how to deal with pattern zoom in every aspect, not only controlling internal instruments but also controlling midi devices and VST instruments. And how would they respond on 4096PPQ note-data with tick-base retrig?
How should automation coop with that? and how should pattern effect commands be integrated with that?

uhmm… hmmm, i hate arranging tracks… i don’t need such stuff.

Mozart did not even have a music program!

wtf?

…but

…how the f*?..

Of course he did,
He used Sibelius.

MAD PROFITS!1

He did have a real life orchestra to play his music. But he didn’t even put a banging donk on it :C

All I can add to this thread is:

RENOISE I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU!!!

bye bye renoise …2.1
hello 2.5!

I read this thread again from the start. there are some really hilarious moments. thanks to elcct for starting it :)

DUDE! Our Renoise Charity Board has raised so much money for your license, we could easily supply Haiti for the coming two years!

Hmmm, good point… if only the INDAMIXX offer came with a battery…
