Covid-19 (Corona virus)

Yeah so many nice things you can do with just a computer hooked to the internet.

Blender one of the good things to try if you’re bored. And you can even go into business - currently there is a high demand of stock pictures showing a 3d model of the corona virus…

I’m finding time to poke and pry into some of those “hidden corners” in Renoise that I never needed to use. Revisiting the “formula” tool currently …

Cheers.

Things starting to get bizarre, with quite unusual solutions to problems being tested. In the grocery store where I just bought food, a security guy would only let in people who would use a shopping cart each. This was so that people would take the 2m distance limit automatically, as this happens to be those things’ lengths. Maybe this way they also log how many people go to the supermarket and when?

Also all open and relevant stores have a screen in front of the cashier, and the cashiers wear gloves…

That’s right, they must control the population and distribute as much as possible to everyone equally.

The behavior of the population is currently one of the main problems of this pandemic, and the highest leaders know this. It is essential that the population respect the rules. If not, it will be chaos, which can end the army taking the streets. If people are civilized, they don’t have to worry too much. Obey the authorities. Many of these people (police, security guards) want the best for everyone.

it’s happening. I see WalMart and others are installing “sneeze guards” in their locations. https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/25/business/walmart-kroger-changes-coronavirus-wellness/index.html In my little town, the local market requires both customers and cashiers to wear disposable gloves now.

How’s it going in New York? The virus is especially dangerous (contagious) in big cities.

How’s it going in New York?

Probably the best place to see what’s going on in New York, state and city. Governor Cuomo tells it like it is, forthright, honest and factual.

Morale is so important right now.

In Spain, every day at 8pm, all Spaniards go out on the balconies to clap and make noise. It is very moving! It is a gesture of thanks, every day, to all the people who are risking their lives to save human lives. Every day we pay tribute to a different group, hospitals (medical, wardens, security guards, cleaning …), security bodies (police, civil guard, army …), transporters, farmers, cooks, supermarket employees … They all have tributes every day!

Right now, the entire US should be focused on NY capital, supporting them in everything. This virus is going very fast, and what happens now will be a problem in a week.

The virus is always ahead, it is “invisible”, it delude. Take precautions!

I understand that the NY mayor is fighting Trump. It will be very intense!

Not entirely. There is frustration in some state govenments about how Trump in “mis-managing” this crisis. Fortunately, America is build on Federalism which divides power between the Federal government and the individual states. The states have a lot of say in the “public’s welfare” and many of us are thankful for that.

My personal opinion is that Governor Cuomo might make a presidential run in 2024 and use his response to the COVID-19 in New York as part of his platform. I think he’s a good man.

Cheers.

This is reassuring. Still, any state can be overwhelmed by the epidemic. It is essential that the entire US work together. Probably, the virus is not going to stop in NY, it is going to continue advancing in other territories, it is very difficult to control this. A territory that is now apparently clean, in 10 days can have a very big problem, mainly sanitary. You have to prevent, and there the central power has a lot to do.
If Trump allows borders to open between member states in a few days, the problem now in NY can spread to other cities very quickly.

Much encouragement to all!

Hi @Soph, how are you?

Érase una vez un español y un francés hablando en inglés…

Thank you so much for the comments!

Let’s see if I have time and I will get another version of the Arturia Keylab mk2 tool. For me it is essential to use it with the MIDI keyboard.

This Friday I am scheduled to release a new rendering tool. As long as we keep making music with Renoise, everything will be fine. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :star_struck: :mask:

Much encouragement to our French neighbors. I have always appreciated France very much and have friends there as well. I hope everything goes well and take good care of yourself!

In summer we will all be on the beach, without this :mask: and with this :sun_with_face:

Come on, that it is only 2 or 3 months and little more of virus!!! That time will pass very quickly…

have no idea what she is saying but i would not mind being quarantined with her
( glad my gf aint in this forum lol :joy:)

If you get bored with the coronavirus issue, you can see another topic that’s all the rage right now, the deployment of the US military in Europe this March. Many bullets and shells worn out of America. What are they doing?

America is also very big, they could shoot bullets there…

American soldiers are immune to the coronavirus!

Hi Raul,
I’m fine and you ? That would be nice if you can get that another version !

Thanks for your energy ! Your tools are very good additions to Renoise.

I hope Spain will be safe soon. Good luck to everyone in your Country ! Take care to yourself too !

Yes summer will be great after this spring.

It’s a NATO exercise Raul and there will be other countries involved as well as the US.

Yes, it seems. But it seems out of place to do these exercises in a pandemic. If they were to help other countries to strengthen their health systems, ok. But for other things bullets can be used up in a few months, I think.

These NATO exercises are intended to improve and strengthen response to aggression, primarily focusing on systems readiness and rapid deployment. Consider the benefits of having a military well-practiced in moving quickly and being organized if the government needs them to assist the general public during a pandemic, or worse?

In the States, we already have some of our National Guard being deployed in a few states to assist in the containment of the virus. As a former National Guardsman, I can tell you we were trained not only for military actions but domestic support as well.

ugh, NATO topics. I would like to see your opinion on that topic from different perspective if you were living in the Balkans during 99/2000 when nato bombed civilian targets, buildings, civilian trains etc… but i do not want to initiate those politic topics here… (i couldn’t resist to comment as well lol.). well, just ignore my rant
