Mixer metering issue

It seems the metering in the mixer dont work correctly. Its about 2-3 db too loud. I switched the different volume scales, but every scale showing the same issue. The metering in the maximizer fx is fine. I set the track headroom in the song properties to 0db.

I’ve attached a screenshot. Bug or something which could be explained?

Btw. the mixer manual page have the main content also in the left column:http://tutorials.renoise.com/wiki/Main_Page?title=Mixer&oldid=2067

I’ve always found it odd that the mixer meters bear almost no relation to the level numbers to the left of the fader.

Edit: woot, dblue? removed your post?

Yeah, sorry… I was just quickly double checking something.

The VU meters are indeed a bit wonky. They’ve been fixed for 3.1

Ah ok, thx, I thought i was dreaming

PS: You also managed to link to some older, borked version of the wiki page. (Maybe from a Google search or something?)

Here’s the correct one: http://tutorials.renoise.com/wiki/Mixer

Yep, i’ve google it (“renoise mixer”). Maybe you should redirect the old ones to the correct ones. Would remove duplicate content.

Great news. I didnt knew why so many demo songs were peaking till i realized that metering is not right.

wtf…

Well, they haven’t been “broken”, but used a different headroom than the sliders next to it. Here’s the full story:https://forum.renoise.com/t/vu-meter-in-renoise-reliable/44007

Mhn, so theindicators are just for the slider control and not for the vu meter?
