Dr. Dripps, aren’t those Genelec’s allergic for Behringer headphones? If you put them on top of each other, you may cause rash!
It’s no problem. I’m traveling a lot and as I cannot survive more than 3 days without Renoise , this is the only solution for me. That Acer-Keyboard is quite good, with Numeric-Keys as well but I also have a USB-Keyboard for longer “Renoise-Sessions”.
I have some PC-speakers+woofer (Creative Labs) and headphones (Sony MDR-V300, not those you see on that picture behind the keyboard). It’s enough for my hobby. I’ve never earned money with my music so everything need to stay low-cost.
Great studio and nice painting from Edvard Munch, but doesn’t fit it better to Screamtracker?
That’s the jist of it…
My humble equipment
And the little front-console module is from my soundcard…
Though, it’s not perfect, it still is eyecandy to watch…
If only the drivers were a tat bit better, it would be a very good soundcard…
Another one lovely Alesis Actives
BTW: why do you choose horisontal speakers setup, man ? Is it sound’s better 4 u ? I’ve never tryed this with my own Alesis’es…
BTW2: What is that in a centre ? Cassette recorder ? You still use it ?
(i have old bobbin tape recorder with huge bobbins collection. Handed down from my GrandDad )
I beleive it’s one of those old Technics “front loader” decks, I got one from a car boot about 10 years ago, still working today!
So is it?
Do you have to open the door and slide the tape in on a slanted angle? If I remember correctly, it had a very crude eject mechanism as well, more like a launch pad!
yeah, once upon a time i’ve tried to
learn c, but amos basic was just too
cool (& easy)…
Dripps: Wow… you have that keyboard we were speaking about some time ago… how does that works? Is that worth? You know what I’m talking about, do ya? It’s the keyboard with “letters” and “keys” in the lower part… I was SO curious…
that was life…
…before VSTi
WHOOOOAAA!!!
it would be no surprise if those gears were used to make cheap trance/dance stuff
edit: only now I’ve seen that the label of the forum from which the picture come is “*core forum”
damn it’s kore
This is where it happens … it, being a random selection of
vibes and grooves and bollocks …
Everything I need for making music is listed below ::
overview
ze Tascam us-122, some grass
25€ soundsystem du jardin… half of it … and wires, wires
a good engulfing trip
and a lot of shiny, black buttons
BotB your studio is almost completely bad… except for the weed part, that’s it…
I knoooow !
And still I manage !
I must be:
a. an idiot
b. very poor
c. a f****ing genious
Nah man, I wouldn’t put it that way…
Being one… or all of the 3 options at the same time (like me) it’s not a good excuse at all…
The fact that you “manage” it only means that you could manage A LOT better with a LITTLE of “proper” equipment.
(IMHO) n.1 priority: a somehow “better” speakers/monitors
Hi, Yeh I think you’re talking about the Creative Prodikeys DM.
Well, the computer keyboard is solid and well usable.
The ‘note’ keys are on the other hand very crappy.
The drivers are not bad too, you have to download them from Internet because if you install from CD it brings along a lot of crap.
I like the concept of it, that’s why I bought it.
but I hope I can get somewhat like this design but with full size keys.
anyone seen something like that?
—edit—
why does everybody always spell drips with two P’s?
—/edit—
Yep it is a front loader Technics deck. I can’t remember where I got it from, but I just leave it in my signal path (with pause and record always pressed) just to get some glowing VU metering! I’ll check to see if it actually works properly one of these days… (I’m kinda particular though cause I work in an AV archive, so if it’s not calibrated perfectly or something doesn’t quite work I’ll probably just leave it where it is!)
As you just said, you do have to open the door and then slide it in on an angle, and the eject really does spit it out hard! Kinda cool really.
Ceejay: I have them sideways because in the manual it suggested that setup if you’re in a corner or something (I’ll check out the specifics when I get home…). I’ve never actually tried them upright. Apparently it’s most important to make sure that the tweeters are on the inside, so if you decide to turn them sideways, make sure to swap them around too.
