Please read here.
Hi
for a few months I’ve been having trouble with a number of my vsts after installing 2.5. When I used 2.1 All my vsts work correctly, but when I installed 2.5, the Superwave P8 wouldn’t work, even though it still functioned in 2.1. For some reason, though, it started working in 2.5, although I don’t know how I was able to get it working. Later on I started to build up my vst library, until I started using some tweakbench vsts. None of them work in 2.5. Almost all say “can’t load module: (item…
The plugin seems not a SynthEdit plugin, but the cause of the problem is the same, I think.
I’ve tested the demo and works fine here. (win Vista 32bit)
Also when you report the vst issue, please read this first.
VSTs and AudioUnits (audio plugins in general) need some special attention, so please help us by giving us as much details as possible about them, and what exactly doesn’t work. Plugins are “small programs” on their own, just as Renoise is one, so they can have bugs like Renoise can have bugs. These bugs can only happen in very specific scenarios or only on some versions of the plugin only on some platforms. Often the only thing we can do is forwarding reports to the plugin developers, because w…

This is the only plugin giving me headache amongst several others, so the security things don’t apply. I tried allowing my user to “write” anyway but it didn’t help.

Ahh, I see.
Maybe you’ve installed 64bit version of the plugin, right??
Renoise Win7 version is still 32bit host currently, so you should install 32bit version of recabinet 3.

I did install the 64bit version of the plugin yes. Will check tomorrow if 32bit goes better! Thanks!

Progress and new obstacle!
Now it loads, but generates a sine wave squeal at maximum volume that can’t be turned off.
Any ideas?

I guess it’s an Audio feedback.
Audio feedback (also known as acoustic feedback, simply as feedback) is a positive feedback situation that may occur when an acoustic path exists between an audio input (for example, a microphone or guitar pickup) and an audio output (for example, a loudspeaker). In this example, a signal received by the microphone is amplified and passed out of the loudspeaker. The sound from the loudspeaker can then be received by the microphone again, amplified further, and then passed out through the loudspea...
Since I’m not so familiar with such Amp plugin, maybe you had better to ask how to use recabinet 3 to their forum.
If only you want to avoid the feedback, what is necessary is just using headphone, I think.
