i’ve been avoiding this topic. it appeared on my radar in the summer, and i’ve always noticed it on the active topics list and tried not to pry too deeply into it’s sticky recesses.
today i finally cracked and skimmed it’s contents. here are my impressions:
you people are absolutely horrible. 
a disgrace to the noble, elitist principles of the high-brow, discerning electronic music programmer. HELLO we’ve got an image to maintain here (wired geeks up at 4am in headphones chainsmoking cigarettes and spending all our money on coffee,cigarettes, records and noize toyze). what would happen if all the thronging masses that are intrigued by our mysterious ways were to suddenly discover this thread?

You know, I just gotta say that “magic piano” is quite catchy!

Question? We can’t use free VSTi’s like Superwave? What’s the reason for that?
Btw, love the look of the site… it’s really… gay! 
Well, in the beginning we had the strict rule that really no VSTi’s were allowed. As you can see now, the rule is related to non-free VST’s. In my opinion it’s okay to use free VSTi’s if you include them to your zip/rar. It should just work once someone unpacks your zip/rar and installs the plugIn. The reason why I think we should allow this is clear:
more participants, bigger compo, more fame for the compo.
