Free-running LFO´s
So that, if you change the tempo bpm, the LFO will stay in the same tempo, unaffected by the change in bpm
maybe a button on the current LFO to switch between LPC and Hertz (down to three decimals; 0.001 Hz)

Stable slices
Hello,
These are in order of my personal priority.
Add option: Lock Keyboard Focus when clicking Pattern Editor and Sequence Matrix
Please have an option somehow to actually lock when you click between Pattern Editor and Pattern Sequence Matrix.
Lock Phrases
An option to “Lock Phrases.” Example, if no phrases exist, when loading a new instrument, no new phrases will be loaded. Or, if phrases are loaded, and a new instrument is loaded, the previous phrases stay.
Destructively Render Sample Properties to Sample
It would be nice if in the sample editor you could render the beatsync’d waveform instead of needing to make a pattern to render and other hoops to jump through. It would save so much time and make it easier to be very creative. After you adjust beats/settings of the beatsync, in the sample editor, you should be able to right click and “Destructively render beatsync settings to sample.” So much work was done regarding the beatsync its just missing one final step! And/or fix the broken workflow of beatsync’d loops, rendering slices to phrase/destructively render slices. Currently, If you slice a beatsynced loop, “apply beatsync values to transpose and fine tune”, not only are the transpose and fine tune settings not applied to the slices, it will not make a phrase of the correct size if its not a size 64line loop This actually works! You MUST hit T before slicing any sample.
Replace Record
Overdub is nice, but sometimes you just want to jam and want to capture your last performance with a stop recording when you’ve laid down a nice take. The only way to do this now is to press undo a bunch of times after every loop/take. This takes so much time.
Recording notes while playing mono instrument and glide setting, glide automatically recorded / sample fx visible
Just like when delay column isn’t on when recording unquantized, the fx column should automatically be made visible and glide recorded.
Pattern Follow in Phrase Editor
There are quantization key bindings available so maybe this will happen, just didn’t make it for the release?
Move Cursor To Mouse Click Position
If I click a note or fx column, for ex “D0”, the cursor will aways end up on the “D” even if I click on 0. It is extremely frustrating that the cursor doesn’t go where clicked, or goes to the note instead of the value. Hidden Feature! Don’t “quick click” on the item, click and hold for a half second and the cursor will go to where you want it! Doesn’t work in the Volume/Panning/Delay column when using fx there but it does work in fx columns. I see this is related to the single click to move cursor option in prefs, as double clicking works same as a long click.
Add option: Hold Shift To Make A Selection / Real Instant Drag n Drop
Just like almost every other click style editor, please default to making a single selection/moving when first single clicking and NOT multi-drag selecting. If I want to select we are used to holding shift! Faster editing this way. Also the “instant drag and drop” option still requires two clicks to move a block.
Also the way it is, makes it impossible to clear a block selection to one cell without clicking outside of the selection area. If we want to drag the block we will hold the click, to make a new selection single click on a cell. One could use the begin/end selection keystroke, but using [shift-] alt(option) clicking to make these kinds of selections is much easier when using the mouse, and this is mouse related stuff here. Edit: Looks like it was some tool I had installed that caused this behavior. Oops!
Paste Merge
An option when you paste it will “merge” with existing note data, creating new note columns if necessary. This exists as “Mix Paste” as a key-command only.
Hide Tracks without Patterns In Sequence Matrix
An option to toggle view of tracks that don’t contain patterns in the sequence matrix. This would save so much screen real estate.
FX Column Rename / Tag
I think it would be nice if the FX Column could have its header either renamed ( like the note column ) or be able to insert a tag under FX header, like where “play” is under the note column.
Change lines per scroll with mouse
Have an option in the keys preferences to change the number of lines a mouse wheel scrolls, and/or lock it the pattern edit step length, obviously minimum 1.
Route Multiband Send within a Doofer / FX Chain
A way to route multiband-send to same-chain devices to be able to, for example, pack a self made multi-band compressor into a doofer.
Mute Sample in Sample Editor
A way to mute a sample in an instrument instead of needing to change gain to zero and back again to unmute. Key command “Mute” should actually be named Silence.
Link L+R In Devices
In devices such as Delay, it would be very helpful to be able to “link” l+r when making adjustments!
More 4+ Track Spectrum Display
The built in spectrograph is amazing. Please add C+D(EFG?) ie able to monitor at least 4 tracks.
Auto Gain for Waveform in Scopes
Could the gain be automatically adjusted for scope view when looking at the waveform?
Instruments Favorites
Just like the plug-ins. Looks like even more was almost implemented with the tagging tool.
Option to not wrap around pattern edges
Just like you can option to scroll through patterns
Doofer Groups
Currently you can favorite doofers, but you cannot add them to groups.
List Effect Chains in Contextual Menu
When you go to load an Effects Chain, list them under the “Device Chain” Contextual menu
UnPack A Doofer
Unpack a Doofer…just like the undo command. The doofer macros will be erased but that’s ok.
That is all, thank you
Great suggestions!
Since it´s not already implemented, I guess it might be hard to do so, but it would be awesome to be able to pan vst instruments using the pan column. I see that volume commands are working.
The capability to label the “FX” parameters in the grid.
Non-Continuous Selection of Loop Patterns. Currently only continuous forms of loop patterns can be created.
Autoset beatsync length for slices. Or someway to set your slice points after beatsyncing the parent sample and not have have to adjust each slices beatsync. It’s pretty much the only thing Serato Sample CAN do. Great for melodic loops and samples. Would be great to see that option in Redux.
Imma say it real slow…
EMMMMM PEEEEEE EEEEEE
Not sure if a view like this would have any appeal for pro users, but maybe helps bring new user onboard who are used to seeing waveforms in other Daws…
Great idea!!!
what if its a modulating signal? the waveforms are supposed to constantly update? hmmm What if it is a vst. different display? I’m not hating just wondering/brainstorming and if its really possible/would work as you intend. What is supposed to be in the 2nd column?

I guess the display would show a simplified version of the basic waveform. wouldn’t need to animate or anything complex, it’s just a visual cue as to what sample (or synth) is being used. Synths would have its own icon and the user can assign a colour.
The second column could display volume number, or other fx, like usual. Maybe even defaults to sample number & the note, in this view mode.
honestly, i’ve not thought it out in-depth, just got a picture in my head and drew it out while was in the mood
Best!
Antivirus for Renoise. It is must detect and delete a trojan virus “pianoroll”.
I want the last used directory to be the default directory when exporting themes.
Just like when you save a song, you should remember the directory where you exported the theme last time.
Currently fixed to $HOME in Linux
U not forced to use Pianoroll! But thanks for this professional comment!
A few ideas I saw used by the Polyend Tracker.
Convert Sample to Wavetable or Granular. This requires a granular or wavetable engine, obviously. I have no idea how difficult it would be to implement, but the code to Mutable Instruments Clouds eurorack module (and maybe soon Beads) is open source, and it’s a characterful granular engine.
Destructively apply audio fx to sample. It could be limited to native effects, or specific native effects. The Polyend lets you apply bitcrusher, filters, modulation, distortion, etc., directly to the sample.
Purge unused instruments. Deletes instruments that aren’t used.
Fill function. It’s a tool for quickly entering note data to use as a starting point. You select what you’re filling (notes, step FX, etc.), the algorithm (random, Euclidian, every X steps, etc.), and the scale or FX types. A similar tool would fit well in the advanced pattern editor operations tab. We already have context masks, we just need random algorithms.
Pattern Sequence Matrix advanced operations. This could include things like randomizing or shuffling the order of patterns, steps, etc. You could select a range of patterns and invert, flip, shuffle them to quickly create variations within a song.
Cut/Fade that functions like Note Off. The Polyend Tracker has 3 “Note Off” functions. Note Off functions similarly to Renoise; Fade does a quick fade out; Cut instantly silences the track. The benefit is that you can work with them like Note Offs and see them in the note column.
I especially wish there was a “Cut Volume” command that worked on the track instead of the sample. For samples with lots of effects, Cxy does nothing, and you have to use Mxx or Lxx. But then you’re dealing with specific volumes rather than just “Cut to Nothing”.
Note Commands:
Transpose: An instant pitch change to avoid the gliding effect that goes with Uxx or Dxx, since multisampled instruments and slices can’t change pitch by changing the note.
Maybe/Yxx that affects a group: I often want to trigger a kick + bass + guitars at the same time, but I also want to use probability. Either a command that uses a deterministic seed (E.G. Y30 always triggers at the same time for every track that uses it), or one that affects every note in a group.
Random note/instrument/volume/FX value: Randomizes within a range.
Drag and drop from Sononym or any file browser to Renoise. I have Sononym and Renoise and, it’s excellent, but… if you can’t drag and drop to Renoise, it defeats partly what’s interesting about such a tool.
Many features proposed in the thread are cool, but I think this one is almost a bug.
Upgrades to native dsp
Pitch shifter dsp
Frequency shifter dsp
Vocoder dsp
Doofers that can route fx chains internally, like a self-contained instrument fx section. This would allow for the creation of native multiband fx, and all sorts of other exotic audio fuckery. It would also be great to have a way to route modulation signals out of a doofer to control other devices.
The ability to automate/modulate instrument modulation device parameters directly, instead of having to go through macros, and the macro control doofer hack in instrument fx section. For example, being able to assign an lfo to modulate the vibrato rate or filter cutoff frequency from within the modulation tab
Expandable macros for instruments and doofers… 8, 16, 24, 32
Ability to control sample properties section through macros and automation
Ability to change instrument scale and key through macros and/or automation
Ability to change phrase lpb on the fly
Native FM/PM
Native wavetable synthesis
Native granular synthesis
Native additive synthesis
Superimposition of EQ dsp and spectrum analyzer, so that we can dial in cuts and boosts with greater ease and precision
Expanded frequency range for LFOs… Would be great if they could be HFOs
These are my renoise wet dreams, lol, and would make renoise even more of an absolute beast for audio production
Updates are good, too
Renoise is the best. Thank you @taktik and the entire renoise team for making such excellent software!!
Native wavetable synthesis
yes , pls
