What feature are you hoping for in upcoming Renoise releases?

Bugfixes regarding VST3
CLAP Support?

MPE on top of these will be awesome, so the note slide and vibrato effect can be integrated by controlling the polyphonic pitch bend. Although still limited by ± 48 semitones, it is way better than no sliding for vst.

I am hoping for a feature, to drag the gfx points in the equalizer, with right mouse button, to program them into the track. I guess it has just been forgotten… it works with the sliders, but not in ā€œgfxā€ line mode! you can achieve so many good effects by taking point 5, and drag it around freely all way down to 0 and back up again… but there is missing this feature to program it into the track!

The gfx line is just ā€œone elementā€ (just a possible right click and drag control… and also a possible left click and drag control). In the sliders you have ā€œtwo elementsā€, the slider line and a value box, which each accept a right click and drag and a left click and drag. These last two control elements are automatable, the gfx line ā€œis not automatableā€. This is a control resource allocation problem (right and left mouse button).

to automate all bands at once, like the line can do is great. but too much work…
programming sliders into track, is dangerous… we have 4 columns, and if we dont watch what we are doing, we overwrite already good work.

is it difficult to code ?

Perhaps a more intelligent system for detecting recorded data so as not to be overwritten would be more suitable for the Pattern Editor. That is, if it detects an effect column full of data, open the next one that is empty and write to it. There can be up to 8 effect columns. A behavior similar to recording notes.

It seems like a problem of where to put the data in the pattern, rather than which controls to use.

However, in more complex cases to record several automatable parameters, it is better to use the Automation Editor. It includes all the parameters separately.

I see your point. its ok. i was just wishing
i am saving all the time, and careful what i do, so the problem isnt really big

On the topic of EQ. I’d love to be able to type note names into it.

So for example, I can type C-1 or E-8 and that it understands I mean 65.41Hz or 2637.02Hz.

The spectrogram windows knows the note names, maybe the EQs can learn them, too.

Would make tying an EQ to the key tracker easier as well for some of the sound design i do.

Renoise FX Devices with a Diagrams and/or Pegelmeters should have always a Viewmode ā€œgraphics onlyā€ like the Renoise EQ Devices. This would give the ability for Doofers with Macro automatising and graphical Feedback. I prefer the big round Macro knobs because they are more ergonomic quicker and easyier to use in most situations.

This is cool…

But to see when Compressor is going interventing we need expand the Comp to see the Levelmeter and get this unergonomic and bad usable Doofer View. You see the Macro programmer buttons disturb the readability of the Macro buttons values and the Comp faders are unneeded redundant.

Not so cool…

But if we had graphical only mode for all Devices with any diagrams/pegelmeters we could have this.

Very Cool…

•Updated Api - Give Tool makers more access to Renoise core functions and I’m not sure but modular synth tools, granular, and a lot of request could be taken care of by tue community itself

•Unlimited or 512+ beatsync length.

•Live recording into the Phrase Editor and let that bad boy scroll just like the pattern editor

Also check out this tool @tris programmed that can beatync slices based on the original samples length

I would love to control the highlighted FX and Mod device’s parameters with keyboard shortcuts too!!

:100:
Integrate the plugin window(make it a tab) into the sampler window after the keyzone tab. Have the plugin audio chain go through the instrument fx and mod. Because why not?

Renoise would easily be the best live performance tool if native clip launching, including combining tracks from different patterns, would be implemented.

I’ve really did my best to get Grid Pie up and running for months, I had a lot of fun with it, but it’s too quirky and buggy to trust it while going live imho. It would be game changing if there was a solid native implementation for clip launching.

At the moment I only miss the part, where I can combine tracks from different patterns, all the other features and tools for setting up a live performance are already there.

Totally agree. Renoise is this :pinching_hand:t6: close to being made for live performance. The phrase section man, if that section were updated it would be a game changer. I actually thought when I started exploring the phrases that it was meant to function like Ableton clips. But alas…

Totally agree on the value of live pattern mashing. Grid Pie was dope when it was working.

I mean you could probably do something comparably functional by midi mapping a bunch of beat synced phrases, actually… Might have to try this out. Would be sweet to have a more ā€œliveā€ performance-oriented live set
