Please have a look at the “Pending Bug Fixes” forum for the complete list.

What’s new

Nothing, really. Functionally, this release should work identical to previous version - the song, instrument formats have not changed internally. This means that instruments that are saved with 3.1.1 should also be able to load in the current Redux builds and and vice versa. The sound reproduction should be identical too, assuming that it was not affected by one of the aforementioned bugfixes.

However, as there is no new features to accompany this release, we decided to make it a little more special by asking @djeroek to create a new instrument pack for us, and at the same time, release the previouslycommissioned libraries to the public. They are now all freely available as Renoise/Redux library downloads :guitar:

Djeroek himself had some nice words to add, basically invoking the sharing spirit that makes the “tracker scene” a bit different. You can read his comments in the description for his second artist pack.

Download (registered users)

The bugfix release is currently available to registered users only from our backstage:

https://backstage.renoise.com/

Sorry, non-registered users - a demo version will arrive shortly.

Found a problem?

Then please post in this thread, this makes it easier for everyone involved.

Happy tracking!!

Thanks!!

  • Add bit to foruma, don’t allow accessing “debug”

Just out of curiousity, was there any special reason for this other than possible access to io.popen? (I tried to get hold to renoise.song without success. That would have been fun)

A Bugfix Makes Sense…

…But No More #updates, Please!

Thanks

My favourite Renoise artist, by far!

Haha, symptom of copy-paste, I’m clueless as to what it means

Edit: OK, yes - you’re right. Some debug capabilities were removed from the ‘foruma device’. I think it was just a random leftover.

Thanks!!

OK! It was likely about being able to access the debug library in the formula device environment. Since it was “fixed”, I became curious if there was some interesting exploit that now no longer is possible.

Cool, thanks for the update and the libraries, can’t wait to give them a try.

Wonderful! Does this install over an existing Renoise 3.1 or should it be installed in a new directory? I usually assume the former, but no harm in asking to be sure.

Thanks!

Thank you for the great and hard work!

Thanks!

It installs into a new directory.

I had the version 3.1.1 about 8 months, and this topic was started today?

Well there is some problem with the Midi clock master for me, its about the song position pointers, my Korg electribe mx-1 wont follow song position. Also syncing to another software (Ardour) have the same problem. Renoise is not my midi clock master but I would like it to be. but not like this when I have to set the song position manually every time I playback :frowning:

Thanks you very much for the release and libraries! I want to thank strongly the official announcement of the update, although it has been through the forums.

For my part, I have tested with 2 of the bugs that I was involved in the past:

Thanks!!

Thank you for the great and hard work!

Thanks you very much for the release

:3 What is this, a fanboy competition? Thank you for finally releasing these one-year-old bugfixes? Throw me a gnawed bone? Well… There are other bugs not fixed, but reported long times ago. I see one of these bugs while every single start of Renoise. But I get it, you don’t care.

@ffx, Entitlement much? I’ll appreciate any update I get for free on a software that objectively is already “good enough” in relation to the market. If you have any problems with that, speak to your psychologist about it.

@joule That is really inaccurate and also quite a bit fanboying now, what you write. We both already talked a lot about Renoise. And it can not compete with the market when it comes to the very basic features like automation, recording etc. It has a lot of awesome outstanding features, true. You yourself said that, too, and wished some change, and now you are happy with these old bugfixes and doing these exaggerated thanks? What for? And why? Because you want to be happy and stay away from facts? I find that ridiculous man. And do you really think I would talk about Renoise with a psychologist? There are much better topics to discuss in such an opportunity, nothing to be ashamed of.

Hi ffx.I understand your frustration and I share it.But I always supported the continuity and development of this software, even if it is too late.I assure you that I have a lot of patience, and I try to look at other things. I am aware of the situation and possibly a “sloppiness” (it is said like this?) on the part of the developers, but at least it has arrived.

The update v3.1.1 was almost a month in the backstage"hidden", is in quotation marks (the quotes are good for something sometimes, I say in case another pleople comes to read it and thinks another thing), without official notice, and not even a comment of two words in the forum.Maybe they were waiting to finalize the libraries for the official announcement? Beginning of September it was already available the version 3.1.1.The build date is dated February 6, 2017!Yes, I am aware! Now it’s October…

I have understood, given the events of the past few days, that it does not matter that several users comment on the updates and ask for some information, or consistency, in short, a better deal.In fact, when I say thanks, it’s the announcement itself. Because others are not grateful, I do not have to be just as ungrateful. And this goes for everyone. Everybody.

Joule has thanked you! Very simple sentence. Education is a degree, apparently difficult to maintain in certain situations, or unpleasant comments from others, and I do not mean you precisely (that I see your comment is just as fairthat the comment of thanking).

Roppenzo speaks of “hard work”. You can interpret this sentence in at least 2 ways.Another that has a lot of patience. So we better celebrate that there is at least some continuity, and we encourage you to a next more serious update.I am looking to the future with hope, and I am grateful because I have been able to learn many things to create tools, which has been an outlet for me, receiving much support from the person who has opened this thread, and of others.Visit the tools section. I’ve been very heavy here!!! Now I know how to make some tools, and I have not done it alone.

I also understand that lash out against Renoise Team, although fully justified, is useless. They look at your interests, something that to a certain extent is normal, do not forget that this is a business too.Maybe the maximum responsible does not even know about your criticism or my criticism or criticism of anyone. Each person takes care of their conscience.

I don’t want to start here another expanding ranting-thread. I just want to name it like it is. Makes no sense to pretend super duper gratitudefor this, IMO. Ok, I stop now and won’t disturb you guys anymore with negativity.

… And it can not compete with the market when it comes to the very basic features like automation, recording etc. It has a lot of awesome outstanding features, true. You yourself said that, too, and wished some change…

In this you are very right!I wish all these things would improve. However, it is not equal to what I expect in the following versions.
